Official: Far Cry Help Thread.

This is probably a dumb question, but how do you get in the carrier? I swam underwater to the opposite side of the boat, crawled in the hole in the middle, and can't find any way to climb up. Please tell me this isn't one of those pain in the ass jump from beam to skinny beam situations... :disgust:


Alright, another one. I got into the carrier, kicked ass, nailed the dude in the chopper, cleared the top deck, and got to the raft. I hopped in, and it said press use to push into water. That didn't work, it just made the boat swing around so I shot out the chains that were holding the boat (think Indiana Jones and the temple of doom style raft ride) but alas I fell and died. It took 20 minutes just to beat that stupid part, next time (since there's no save point) how can I lower the boat without dying? TIA.


EDIT: My questions were all answered and I am pretty far in the game now, so I figured if anybody else is stuck or needs help, go ahead and post and maybe one of us can help out.

Any ideas on my raft dilemma? The 9800 is anihilating.

how can I lower the boat without dying?

dont get into the boat. make ur way down into the water and then shoot the chains off

Like go back down through the carrier to the water? Can I shoot the chains first?

u can shoot the chains wenever ... i found it more a of a cheap thrill to see the boat come down

That part sucked butt. There are like 50 guys and I don't think I even had anough ammo to take them all, let alone health and armor, so here's what I did:

After nailing the initial camp of guys under the stone arch, crawl on your belly and stealthily as possible to the far left through the brush and skirt the bottom of the cliff. Make your way around and eventually (it takes awhile) if you keep an eye on where the guys are, you can sneak between them into the back of a shack. Located here are health, armor, some ammo, and the keycard you'll need in a second. After you sneak out, go a little ways further to the left and there will be a bit of a sheer slope. This is where I was forced to throw stealth and caution to the wind and make a wild sprint for the cave entrance, blowing away guys with the SMG as I galloped. There are only a couple guys in the cave, and with the keycard you can get in and advance to the next area. This is the only thing that worked for me after futily trying to take on the army by myself and craftily trying to swim around only to be gunned down by a chopper.

go to the top of the hillock and go prone, use your binoculars to get the enemy onto ur radar

sneak into the area with the natural stone arch

snipe or shoot in the general direction of the peir

stay put and pick off the enemy as they come for u - gets a bit hectic, but u'll be ok.
