The Nvidia brail effect is still unfixed. I can't see a damn thing. This reminds me of Doom 3's famous "Can't see sh&t technology". I was looking for how to craft a flashlight out of sheep skin and fireflies, but it seems Ubi didn't think that far ahead.
Anyway, if you guys find out how to fix the Nvidia brail effect, let me know, cause this ish is broken.

Change SLI bits to Far Cry Blood Dragon or Batman: Arkham Origins with Nvidiainspector. The Blood Dragon bits run faster but can sometimes cause a flickering environment (seems to be random and it either happens during a session or it doesn't).

It's not perfect so hopefully the next Nvidia drivers will have a proper fix for this.

I bought Far Cry 4 on Black Friday sale but decided not to play until the biggest issues are fixed. :)

I have also read a lot about stuttering as you move fast through the terrain. Do you guys also experience this in SLI? Is there any workaround that doesn't involve texture quality reduction?

Yea sounds like texture loading. I wonder if using Rapid Mode in Samsung Magician would help in your case. With my 850 Pro, it kills synthetic benchmarks, and similar gaming is smooth.

as someone with an 850 pro using rapid mode and dual 780's, the game still stutters badly. There is no workaround currently.

Yeah the stuttering is not a hardware issue. It does that on all hardware when textures are above medium.

It cracks me up when people name their threads "official". Who made it official? Mods? The site owner? The video game developers or card manufacturers? Nah, they just decided to slap "official" in the title to make it sound more important.

(Not to belittle the bug, it sounds like a proper game breaker. But the title is a little silly :p )

Fixed

Also, the reason I made a thread for this, is because people were talking about it in the Far Cry 4 performance thread and were told it was off topic and to stop talking about it. So I made an official bug thread, but you had to complain about that too, so now we have an unofficial bug thread. I'm just reacting to my environment.

Lol, well played.

Have you emailed NVidia tech support? FC4 is a Gameworks title, so I expect fixing this would be quite high priority.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=934393 might be of interest to people. The OP covers pretty much the relevant parts of the thread.

I've tried both. upping the buffered frames helps a little maybe, but it definitely doesn't fix it. DisableLoadingMip0 lowers the texture quality, and while it does fix the intermittent stuttering, it also introduces some noticable micro-stuttering that's not present otherwise, even with vsync locked at 60.

So I'm basically forced to choose between a smooth framerate with severe hiccups on a frequent basis, or blurry textures and microstutter.

Agreed, it's a mess. Hopefully they'll fix it soon. Makes me think twice before preordering any Ubisoft game from now on.

This thread is specifically for addressing issues related to SLI support for Far Cry 4, not a general discussion about multi-GPU. Stay on topic.

The weirdest thing though about the stuttering, for me at least, is that it doesn't happen during those fly-by's when you unlock a tower! It makes no damn sense. You'd think it would happen the most during those.

Also, turning textures to medium makes it stop, so it's definitely something related to the higher quality textures. I wonder if this happens to people that have the 6 gig cards.
