Some of us at work are excited for this. 5 player online game. One player is the monster (that evolves as it eats). The other 4 are the hunters.

It sounds interesting and so long as reviews are not bad a bunch of us at work are getting it.

Anyone else hoping for good things out of this game?

I'm watching from a distance, but I'm not really feeling it. I didn't bother playing the beta, though I wanted to, mostly because I had no one to play it with, and playing strategic games with strangers is always frustrating. I wasn't a Left 4 Dead fan, as I felt its combat to be really shallow and lacking of long-term interest, so I have that same fear here. Maybe it'll be meaningfully deeper than its predecessor, and I'll be waiting to see how it is received.

Ya, I have high hopes but am expecting disappointment. 8 monsters, 8 character classes and 20+ levels. That's a winner.

This kinda feels like hte first Mortal Kombat. They wanted more characters but only had time for a few. MK2 is what they envisioned MK1 to be.

Looked interesting but don't think I'd want to buy it. I was in the alpha test, but I can't really say anything. The concept is cool.

3 of us at work are waiting for reviews. The concept has us psyched. Definitely a game for friends to play together and not random people. The problem is that we need to find 5 total people to buy it and have regular gaming nights.

In the alpha, could you choose to play with only those on your PS4 friend list?

Yea I will say that unless you have a group of friends it wont be very fun. I'm sure you can invite friends but in the alpha your character was random and so were the people you played with.

I've watched hours of it on Twitch. A group playing the PC version.

Looks interesting but from what the players said, you have to buy the $99 package to get the full game.

Also, it requires constant teamwork/ These guys were splitting in the twos and each group having a specific goal to track, tag and kill.

There aren't many gameplay modes so I see why you need the full package to get all the game modes and attributes. At least in the alpha there was only one available mode and one monster to play as. This is a team work game kind of like socom.

If they want $100 to get he full game, forget it.
Well it's multiplayer only and a big thing these days with these type of games are season passes and extra content to play online, expansions, etc. The alpha didn't interest me much, it was cool and felt new but only for a while..to get more enjoyment you need more content.

The Polygon.com review said that it has a single player campaign.

EDIT: Wikipedia also says single player and multi player

It's single player is probably akin to left for dead. Tacked on afterthought
Yea that's what I think. The alpha had this single player mode but it was mostly just matches against the computer monster from what I could tell.

I really like L4D but back then I had more time for gaming as did my friends. None of my friends have a new system and these types of games suck without a solid group so even though this looks great, I'll have to pass.

I'm just begging for a good game. Destiny spoiled me for Multiplayer and I need a new experience.

No reviews yet but user reviews on metacritic, take them with an grain of salt, aren't so good.

They say dlc is expensive..$15 for a character, $10 for a skin, etc and that the game is repetitive after a short while. It is somewhat fun if you have a good group of friends but not much content.

I put in about 2 hours on it last night and found it to be pretty fun. I would have played more but the server seemed to be going out on a few occasions. I suck at being the monster and found the hunters to have a lot lower learning curve.

I didn't play the evacuation game type, which I hope to give a try tonight.

I'm sorry I couldn't give a more in depth review. It's hard for me to get a a good amount of playtime during the week.

I'm mostly worried about replay value. That's my biggest concern from reading reviews.

We might save it for when it is in the $10 bin a few years from now.

I guess it has as much replay as any other FPS. You'll play the same maps over and over again just like in COD. The evacuation game type does change the maps according to what happened in the previous map in the sequence, so you can get a lot of different variables. I like how the different characters for each class get a totally different set of weapons and gadgets. I finally got the 2nd guy in the support line. I found it fun to track the beast with my UAV while my party hunted him.

I do think that the game gives some neat combos for your group depending on which character each player picks and that would only be better if you play with the same group all of the time.

I'm starting to get the hang on the monster. I find it fun to be weak and running from the hunters. The payoff when you evolve to level 3 and smash face after being hunted for awhile is pretty cool. All in all I like it. I'm not sure if I played it 8 hours a day I would love it but putting in a couple hours a night, it seems to be entertaining.

Ign gave it a 90 for the ps4. Majority of the reviews seem shallow anyway and are saying it gets repetitive. But if you have a good group it could be fun it seems. I felt like there wasn't much after the alpha but then again titanfall was similar and I ended up buying that for PC.
