Is this really what you signed up to the forum for? Copy and paste show dates you have nothing to do with? And then dare to call it an "**OFFICIAL**" thread?

I think there will be a teaser for the next Mass Effect, which I'm pretty stoked about. Can't wait to see what's heading our way.

Now that I would really love to see.

I remember when I used to get really excited for Sega at E3 from like 2003-2007 always hoping for a Skies of Arcadia sequel lol.

Mass Effect Andromeda teaser trailer

Also Matt Stone and Trey Parker announce another South Park game is in development continuing the 'story' from Stick of Truth and your role as 'the new kid' this time with a superhero angle.

Yeah I came across that 20 minutes after it was released. It's a teaser, but I have high hopes. Apparently it takes place long after the ME3 ending, but there are N7 logos around. This is a game I really hope they take their time with, because it could launch another series of ME games - and there were lots of complaints before about 'choice' and how this impacts subsequent games. They have a chance to really get it right this time (and I was a huge fan of the ME series to date).

I don't think almost anything that happened in ME1-3 will have a direct impact on Andromeda. They're really emphasizing how this is a new game in a new galaxy with new characters and a new story. There will probably be passing reference to it (in the same way we still talk about, say, World War I/II) but I don't think any "because X in ME2 then Y in ME4" will appear.

The only incidents I readily recall that could have more of a ripple effect on an intergalactic scale would be your interactions with the Rachni and Geth (oh, and that breeding inhibitor thing on the Krogan planet) - but that could be pretty easily explained away anyway. "Despite The Shepherd's respect for the Rachni, the general perception of the creatures as savage beasts was too entrenched to be swayed and were thus hunted down to the brink of extinction" or whatever. I think they probably want to start with a blank slate and I don't blame them.

I am curious about the plot however. I loved ME and part of that was how 'big' the story felt - it was this ancient menace of unimaginable power threatening all life in the universe in a cycle that's gone on for hundreds of thousands of years. Now that that card's been played I don't think they'll be able to go back to a 'save the world' story again already. Interested to see what they come up with and hope it holds up well.

I would personally like to see them take the story to a more personal level.

I'm really starting to get burned out on the whole "epic" story thing, with the immensely powerful evil forces with clearly delineated evil motives vs the good guys in an action-packed showdown.

This entire premise is really starting to bore me to tears.

It's like every Sci-Fi video game wants to be Independence Day. Well, I would much rather have a Solaris, Gattaca, or Interstellar. Maybe that's just me though.
