sort of. different dot arrangements identify the movie theater, and then the MPAA downloads some cams from Kazaa or something and check out the dots and look it up on their dot-chart. they then give the movie theater flak about not catching the cams.

at least, thats how I understand it works, which could be completely wrong.

It's a screen, son. It can't hear you.

but all the people who had no idea what the commercial was about sure did, and it made me feel like a rebel!

it was a long time ago, and I wont mention any names, but there was a low attendance showing of superman, a couple of bored dumbasses, and a deserted projectionists booth with two huge ass film cases, someone took one and both dumbasses hauled ass out the fire exit and ran a couple of miles away only to open the film case and find it empty save for a few splice sections and two empty reels :( ;Dumbass:

Rofl! I absolutely hate people who clap during movies, or people who encourage the cast members or try to warn them.
Usually I just shoot them in the face and then finish watching the movie. =P

I sure did. I went to Trilogy Tuesday and saw them in all three LOTR movies.

They are on all reel 5's. CAP code has been in use for years but it was so miniscule it was very hard to notice it. This year for some reason they have blown up the dots where its extremely noticeable and its annoying as hell. Plenty of crappy cap code on kill bill (reel 6) , freddy vs jason, master and commander (storm scene).

Cigarette marks are there in every movie. And a properly projected and eq'd theatre is 100x better than home video.
