hhmmm...just started playing - never played D1 or D2 - not sure how much I like it so far - clicking to move everywhere is annoying - I do like the "hold shift" not to move when firing mechanic though

seems like a dumbed-down WoW though, with a static camera

If you hold the mouse button down, your character will walk in that direction. Don't click, just hold it down.

One thing I dislike is the new map. In D2, opening the map you could scroll with WASD. Here you have to stop moving and drag and click with mouse.

so who's liking that bnet drm scheme

🙂

Sadly, DRM only hurts the paying customer.

As for D3, a no achievement, no multiplayer perk true offline mode would've helped ease the server congestion significantly.

Sucks to have paid for two copies and not get your money's worth (i.e. the uninterrupted satisfaction of playing)... and only to be given the consolation of being told to "be patient".

On a positive note, I am loving the story and was almost done with ACT I before I got disconnected again. Not so much the semi-spoonfed talent/stat point assignment though.

Who cares. I would guess that oly aou 1% of the players play single player. Even when I solo in D2, I did it as logged into multiplayer.

I care, because I wanted to play single player first. I would have been perfectly fine not being able to use a single player character online, but that option was never presented and I now can't play the game because of their incompetence for preparing for the games launch.

Ugh, I played SP for an hour and my character lagged 3 or 4 times. Felt like network lag, not FPS spike lag.

Seriously Blizzard? This is the last time I pay $60 for one of your games. Also, fuck you.

LOL. You guys are crazy. It's the first day of an online only games release, it's going to have issues. they'll be fixed in a few days.

Sometimes I think people just like to complain. And I highly doubt the numerous people in this thread will actually follow through and not buy another Blizzard game. You know, the company from which basically every released game wins GotY.

So, I shouldn't be upset that I can't play a game I paid $60 for?

I tried opening up my game to public today.....but I feel coop destroys my pacing of the story as my team mates rush ahead and skip past dialogue. So glad this game is online, so that I don't have to play with people.

Thought I'd get on, thinking the worst has to be behind. Nope. So lame. After this experience I will be straying pretty far from always on DRM single player games.

You guys need to play with people with the same pace. I watched all the dialogues and cinematics with Merad in my party and everything was fine.

Dammit, worked long hours, finally got time to sit down and load up the game and servers are down? Is this why we have mass murderers? Because I feel like killing right now.

IMO it's pretty unlikely these problems now are related to insufficient resources. There's something else going on, I'm betting it's something security-related.

considering they are still using warden and the amount of hacks readily available for this game since beta... yah.

All the easy dupes and various exploits are still in there was well.

...

That's exactly how I feel, I can't see myself getting any added enjoyment out of coop. I want to play my game at my pace and in my way.

Crazy why? Blizzard hyped the living shit out of this game and now they've followed up the hype by laying a steaming turd.

If anyone has the cash and experience to plan for a launch you'd think it'd be Blizzard.

Um no we're not crazy. This happens with every single thing Blizzard releases and they have never improved their process. I don't recall any other game being unavailable to play for 24+ hours after the official release due to incompetence on their part.

If the steam servers went down the day Skyrim was released and no one was able to play it for 24+ hours people would be going just as ape shit and Steam would lose a large amount of credibility which is their main selling point over their competitors. Yet when Blizzard fucks up release after release after releases people just chalk that up to being Blizzard as usual.

This does kind of take the cake for botched launch epicness (massive title + millions of presold + total failure to work much at all).

In some ways it's part of the blizzard launch experience 😉
