For season 3, is there a class that can play with DoT/Thorns? I'd like something more simple, few active skill/clicking. I'd love to play with only the mouse and just run around while stuff dies passively from shield/thorns.

Not witch doctor, had that season 2 so want a new class.

Power creep is irrelevant in Diablo/WoW games. What the 2.2 patch does is correct the woeful imbalance of the sets for each class. Rather than just having a single set that is actually useful at the high end, you can now choose a multitude of sets to play with depending on your playstyle. This is a great thing, and has been long needed.

Yes, it'll come at the cost of more players having access to GR40+ level ranges, but who cares? All Blizzard has to do is increase the cap to GR60. Besides, they always do large power boosts right before they announce/release expansions.

Power creep is relevant, on my view, because what people tend to see in isolation is something like:

Wizard before - firebird for grift; now, tal rasha. So more boom less dot.
DH before - huge dps, in season 3 it's actually buffed higher with Nats and increased survivability.

But firebird and dh dps were incomparable before. And the dancing needed with Tal Rasha compared to other sets is still a joke. A well geared Raekor barb (so imagine last 'era' already) will still be able to clear faster than Tal Rasha, because the nature of a Tal Rasha wizard is to generate the falling meteors. Look at even someone like Reiko Zockt, his Tal Rasha 2.2 (from PTR). Compare that then to Shinobi's raekor barb (last era). That raekor barb will still be better.

I don't like the way that some people think that an action rpg like Diablo 3 should have a 'support class' a 'dps class' etc - this game is fundamentally about killing monsters fast, and all classes should be able to. The fact that zdps crusader/wd and 2 dh feature in top grifts proves this point. And on PTR the DHs I know were actually holding back on a lightning build, I think, so the Wizards that showed in the Grift 60 clear that garnered so much attention are something of a ruse.

My issue is with the fact that even with a wizard with 1.5m sheet dps, 120% fire damage, a further 45% elite damage, I get out-dpsed quite easily by other classes. So much so that zdps crusaders will leave a Wizard, DH, WD group stating 'wizard useless dps' etc.

I have only ever played a wizard as it is the class that appeals to me, and Tal Rasha's is a step in the right direction, but I took a look at a nice ancient kridershot yesterday - look at the way the skills synergize in the DH class - it is simply much better. And APOC has been nerfed like crazy for wizards for a long time now. Does a raekor barb (top gear) face all kinds of resource management issues? No. Even a firebird wizard does, hence why cindercoat becomes so valuable.

To keep up with fast farming T6 I switch to an ancient Aetherwalker - a significant dps loss, and teleport then costs a lot of mana as well. To add mobility to a wizard then, we have to use our weapon slot. I mean, come on.

I just wanted to promote some discussion of the classes here too. In terms of a suggestion - I know that Blizzard are not balancing the game on group rift progression - fine, but to me (even in 2.2) there is still such an amazing disparity between the classes.

Agreed, I've been a wizard/mage class since d2 and WoW, but I made the switch to DH last season. DH is the only wanted DPS class for groups, going solo gets very boring and you can't level your gems as high. I had to drop Wizard due to their severe balance issues, they might as well not even exist, useless for t6 because their dmg takes too long to hit/ramp up and they can't get around the map and once ramped up it isn't good for high grift either, not sure how Blizzard let this get through the PTR.

I like that the set tells you what body part each piece is for.

I tried using the 6 piece Inna's mantra bonus but then i lost the second mystic ally and had to use a staff instead of my Shenlong's set and then losing my spirit regen make this a no go even with the mystic ally doing the skills like exploding palm and wave of light. Maybe i can make it work but i need to play around with it.

Very strange, i did an update before i played today a few hours ago and it let me play. Now I am updating again. Neither is long enough that is seems to be the new file format and working with 10GB as stated.

It's not a 10 GB patch.

You're not redownloading the whole game. It just needs space to repackage everything.

It's reporting poorly is all.

No Motricks Bracers in 2.2 live. Guess I'm not going to run a Barb for season 3 after all. Don't get me wrong it was blatantly OP but would have been fun.

yeah that's not the actual size. looks like diablo is the last of the blizz titles to get converted to the new file storage format so while they're moving around that much data, actual download should be a decent bit less.

OMG the options for monk now with the changes to Inna's and Raiment. I had a very difficult time prying myself away from the computer to get some sleep yesterday afternoon. </3

I was very disappointed to see this. This was the one item I was most looking forward to getting and using on my Barb. It would have been one thing for them to remove it from the PTR a week or two ago, but to remove it at the very last minute, actually having it listed in the first patch notes, that was a huge let down. It's funny that some people actually got one in the console version of the game. They've since patched it out, but I guess the ones that were able to land a bracer get to keep it.

The wizard options are crazy too. I need to dive in at some point, although today I was just playing around with Roland's. Cleared a 35 quick and easily. I think I can get up to 40 solo soon.

Let me know what works and what does not work, i want the 6 set bonus for Inna's but i don't want to give up Sunwuko to get it. I just got a Sunwuko amulet last night ancient version so i think i will try again, but losing the crudest boots and a second ally makes me sad. Having 2 allies that can do EP, WoL, etc would rock the house!

i'm running full Sunwuko (4) and Inna (6) and it's killer.... but spririt regen is a bit tricky!!!

I have yet to try out the other builds.

Okay if i only have the 2 bonus from the Sunwuko set i still get the decoy with 1000% damage and then i can get 5 pieces for the 6 set bonus on Inna's while keeping the crudest boots so i still have 2 allies. But i need Inna's hold to accomplish this task.

I run Sunwoku's Shoulders + gloves + Amulet and the Inna's Chest, Belt, pants, Helm and weapon.

Add crudest boots + SoJ (or Unity) + Ring of Royal Grandeur

I think they really improved the instant damage issue at least with FB. Overall we're not going to do as much damage though.
