And I can't change my DRAM voltage in the bios, it won't let me, I can select 2.5V or 2.7v but it always goes back to 2.6.

There is a user interface bug in the bios. Just bring the cursor over it and use + or - to change it. Hitting enter and using the menu does not work.

As a side note, my corsair value select gives lots of memtest errors for each stick alone at 2.6, gets a few errors at 2.7, when I memtested em I didn't get any errors til the 12th pass or somthing, but seems to be rock solid at 2.8. I guess this board either undervolts, or just needs higher voltage to make it run stable. I only tested them in slot 2, since it just beeped at me and wouldent POST if I put them another slot, so its possible that slot has a problem on my board.

that's interesting, cuz my memory does the same. I can't use slot 1/3 and if i put 2 sticks in it is unstable.

if on the leadtek 6800 gt/ultras, the zalman VF700-CU vga cooler is installed, will two of these fit in the dfi sli mbs?

Anyone know which SATA ports are locked and which aren't? I think 3/4 are locked?

PascalT, I think you're thinking of the nForce 3 boards, all 4 SATA slots should be locked on this board. They seem to be on mine, as I've had no issues overclocking and I'm only running SATA drives.

Oh, and an update. I can't hit a stable over 2.6 or above overclock. The highest I can get is about 2.55. I've kept my RAM at 1:1 pretty much the whole time and it was actually even stable at 310 fsb/ram with an 8.5 multiplier, however I can't get it to run there stably again.

Keep in mind a few things, this is just a 3000+ and my power doesn't seem to be terribly stable. I'm going to do one or all of 3 things: get a better power supply (an OCZ Powerstream most likely), get a 3200+ (for the x10 multiplier), and an OCZ DDR Booster. My Antec just doesn't seem to be giving me stable enough power, it fluctuates too much for my taste, and also things seem a little underpowered. I might try contacting them first to see if its running correctly, as its a great power supply and I think its running how it should, but I'm just being picky and want to try the Powerstreams.

MY DFI ULTRA-D ARRIVED!!!

I ordered it from NewEgg on Thursday and my invoice said it would arrive on Tuesday. I was kind of hoping it would come a day early (Monday), because with NewEgg it usually does. TO MY SURPRISE, it came on SATURDAY!!! WOW!!! 2 days total!!! It arrived in MINT condition. No smashed boxes, bent corners, etc. Everything was VERY well packaged. It is revision A02. Some people were complaining about the chipset fan, "wobbling". I pressed up and down and side to side on it... and it doesn't hardly budge. Needless to say, I am very pleased with NewEgg and DFI. Now if my X850XT PE would get off back order

I'm using an Antec now and will be changing it to a Powerstream later today. It has been pretty stable, but the PS is more stable even.

Hi guys, just don't know what to memory to buy for the ultra d.
I can't really afford the ocz plat rev 2. I found this two brands

Corsair XMS XL dual 1 gig - $247

Patriot PC 3200 XBL dual 1 gig - $235

which is better between the two or are they any other pc3200 ddr400 that are
better in the same price range.

I see the Zalman VF700 is only 30mm deep and may prove to be the solution. Whatever, I'll have to prove the boards work first before voiding the warranties.

Edit: I have all this hardware in front of me, but you would like to know if I am sure it won't fit together. I think that's an interesting response to my problem.

Edit: im not sure about this ... but it looks like if you removed the plastic thing from the back of the second card both leadtek's would fit.

Yes and no......if you want to run 4 sticks at 1T command rate than yes you will have problems, if you run them in 2T youll be fine but take a performance hit. Your best off getting 2x512 sticks of TCCD memory and you will be golden. Im running my OCZ Platinum Rev.2 at 550 1T and im getting alittle over 7,800 mb/sec in SiSoft Sandra.

Are you sure it has to run at 2T? On most boards, you can manually set it to run 4 sticks at ddr400 1T and they will be fine.

Ok, i have a quick question.....this is my first AMD and i went to AMD site to see what the tempetures should be on a FX-55 and i couldnt find the info i wanted. I have my processor at 3.0 at 1.52 volts and i run at about 35-38 idle and 40-45 load. I have a XP-120 and i wanted to know if this is hot, average, cold, what? Anyone know what the operating temps are for FX-55?? And also, is 40C hot for the chipset during load? Anyone know what the average chipset temps are??? Thanks!

Those temps are fine .... somewhat low actually. MBM5 says my athlon xp almost hits 60 under load.

I ordered myself a dfi nf4 ultra with a 3200+ today, and some corsair xms ram, bfg 6600GT PCIE oc, basically all my parts. I'll post the results when I build.

Those are great temps. I think a stock FX-55 would run about the same temps, maybe a little better/lower/cooler.

My chipset idles at 40C on this board.

TCCD is a chip manufactured by samsung that is used on most super high end memory. It is capable of running at 2-2-2 latencys at DDR400, and is able to overclock very well without much voltage.

you can reach those speeds just using a divider. sure it's more efficient by running a 1:1 ratio but the CPU can get 700mhz faster with non-oced ram.

So this board has problems with Corsair Value Select PC3200? Could it be a BIOS problem that can be fixed later? I currently have 1gb of the value select and I hate to buy new memory when I buy a DFI.
