**Official** Detroit Auto Show Thread

That viper is kickass.

Thank god they are finally putting V8's back in to the Impala and Monte Carlo (even if it is an option). Now we can have a real SS version of each.

But it's still FWD.

And I don't see how you can think the V6 SC cars aren't "real" SS versions. They obliterate that lame duck Monte SS of the 80s in every imaginable performance category.

Where's it say they are still FWD? If that's the case, then shame on Chevy.

I just don't consider a supercharged V6 to qualify for what SS used to actually mean.

the Ferrai SuperAmerica sounds amazing....those electrochromatic roofs cost tonnes (at least the ones on the Maybach do)

also, i can't wait to see the wraps off of the Lexus LF-A...it looks scrumptuous

Yeah - they're still FWD.

What SS "used to actually mean"? LOL. It means a fast and sporty car - no more and no less. Don't be one of those old knuckleheads that thinks everything has to have a V8 or it sucks.

viper... one of the few american cars I wouldn't mind having (altho, it's much too big for my liking for zipping around town. heh)

Looks better than that new Avalon that it will be competing with

WHAAA?????? Your saying that ugly-ass Impala looks better tahn teh new Avalon?

The ;06 Impala looks lugly and old. It's as if it came out in '92 or something. The current version is much better looking.

And hte avalon, while not so pretty, beats both in terms of look.

Ugly and old? Looks rather plain and understated to me. I'd rather look at the new Impala than this everyday:

That's wierd. I can't stand looking at hte '06 Impala and Monte Carlo. The '06 Avalon is much better looking.

Your right that he Impala is plain, but it's too plain. It looks like a Korean design from the mid 90s.

The Chevrolet Impala is a practical car for the price. It's sold consistently well since coming out. If GM has upgraded the interior, and fixed the rear end which not too many people were crazy about, it should continue to grow its sales.
