The weapons are the 300 cap variety yes. Even the exotics you might get other than the vex.Is it true that when you do the VoG, the gear and weapons are not the upgraded ones? Meaning not the weps that start off at 300, etc?

I haven't even bothered with CE yet. I am just not interested in it. I think it comes down to what happened with VoG. It was fun to do it the first few times. Then it became a chore to get gear. "OK its Tuesday. Better do a VoG run because I need boots." Crota's End substitutes shards and energy for gear though. So its the same thing, you will be hoping to get more shards. I am spending most of my time doing bounties and trying to level Eris rank which seems to take absurdly long. I'm just trying to put off the grind of CE as long as I can.
Ill be real close to being 32 on my first toon by next week.Yep, I have some of the gear now, but barely any shards. Plenty of energy as usual though. Each raid piece takes 7 shards now, so that means a total of 21 shards to max each piece. Full suit of raid gear = 84 shards. Grindy McGrinderson lol. At least having an exotic piece will remove 21 shards from that amount.
Full sets drop pretty easy in CE now.I haven't done CE yet, but are raid pieces only found on certain bosses? Like you can only get chest piece from this boss, or leg piece from that boss?
Bungie should implement some kind of token system, similar to WoW, where a boss drops a token and you can turn it in for any raid piece you want. That way you aren't just getting repeats of pieces of you already have.
But that would speed up people getting full sets and it's clear now that Bugnie will do whatever it takes to prolong people's play time.
Yep but it'll be the shards that will elude everyone.Full sets drop pretty easy in CE now.
well, since you can get shards from raid gear, it wouldnt take but a few trips through to level everything to 32.
Bungie employee AMA on Reddit. Good read: http://www.bungie.net/ga/Forum/Post/70895980/0/0
note, this was from september.
All I read in this is "Whaaaa! We had a contract to deliver a game by a date and couldn't do it, so we had to cut a bunch of stuff. Blame everyone but us!" I mean, yeah it sucks they had to trim the game to the state it is in, but that isn't Activision's fault. Bungie said they could deliver their vision by a certain date and, after some internal problems, couldn't. Is Activision supposed to just be like "well, you couldn't originally finish what we agreed upon, despite our paying you, here is some more money and a longer timeline!" No. That is just bad business.
That AMA really points to bad project management within Bungie.
Plus the fact that they signed a contract knowing there were obligations on their end that, with a new game, might not be met. There had to have been some type of sign that design decisions were not working or that there was some disagreement on the team. They can't expect us to believe that in august they suddenly realized "oh damn, this ain't gonna work." and just threw something together. All I read in this is "Whaaaa! Come on. I spent a full 90 seconds locating Xur. And then, he took my coins. It was epic and I'm glad I got to share the story with you all.
