The fix was in. NASCAR made the call and the most popular and sentimental favorite was given the race. Given the fact that the ONLY time Earnhardt Sr. won was ALSO on February 15th, 6 years ago, it's mighty suspicious how Jr. wins today. Stewart leads the race for 100+ laps, with Jr. behind him and Kurt Busch, who was a lap down but with a VERY good car, also in the lead pack. Then with 20-something laps to go Jr. miraculously passes the #20 and neither Stewart nor Busch can get anywhere near him? Looks to me like they laid off and let him run away with the race.
NASCAR, to me, seems to be changing TOO much to please the fans. With the new 10 race "playoff" format at the end of the season to determine the champion, almost completely introduced to make it more exciting for the fans, it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled some bullsh|t like letting Jr. win the race as the sentimental favorite.
