This is the primary game that I'm playing right now and it managed to creep me the F out two days ago when I was in the doll factory.

I really like how they've basically revamped the entire investigation/forensics system from the first one, making it much more interesting and beneficial (you're rewarded to accuracy).

They suck with the melee/fisticuffs system from the first and even reworked it even more into a beneficial combo system. At times, it can be pretty challenging because some of the baddies actually require these combos to be taken down.

Cool game so far and it's probably more enjoyable than the first. We'll see if that game can keep up the excellent pacing...

I picked up C2 today, and played up to the start of the doll factory. So far, I really enjoy it. I'm always amazed at how this game, like its predecessor, can so effectively make me very uneasy and freaked out.

Achievements in this game are not easy to come by at all. I've finished 1/2 the game so far, and only have 5 achievements.

I rented the first just for achievements but actually enjoyed it somewhat. Definitely a few creepy scenes. I expect to rent the 2nd.

I played some multiplayer last night... wow, that's just about as worthless as the multiplayer was in The Darkness.
This is a single player game, I dont know why they focused time on MP... at least it wasnt too laggy for me.

Thanks for bumping this thread--I forgot about it. :p

I beat the game over the weekend. Pretty good game--I dont think I'll head back and play it again any time soon. I thought the first half of the game was more enjoyable that the 2nd half.

I agree. I wish they would have not done any MP and just focused efforts on the SP experience.

This game is really turning into a chore instead of anything else. I just made it to the bowling alley and am considering using a guide to make sure I get everything I need in the game for the achievement points, and to make sure it goes faster. It's alright, but I just don't have the admiration for it as I did with the first one. :(

After the bowling alley, you move on to a really creepy, twisted part of the game. It's worth sticking around for that atleast.

I finished it, and I put it in my goozex queue. Immediately it was requested and I'm sending it out.

Honestly, I'd recommend it as a rental if you never played the first one. Otherwise, I don't really see a need to play it. I just wasnt impressed. I got tired of having to use my flashlight 99% of the time, and when I didn't have to, the game looked like a high-res half life 1 (clearly geared to darkness and single light source). Oh well, GTA in 2 weeks...

What the hell is this goozex? I just googled it, and it looks like a good way to get rid of my MLB 08: The Show and possibly Warhawk. I read the FAQ, but is the only way to get points to request games is to trade out games?

Its just a system that makes it easier to trade games. When you sign up, you get 100 points and a trade point. The trade point is like a ticket to receive a game, while the points are the money.

You can get more by donating money, or selling you own games

Zero Punctuation reviewed it just Wednesday and gave it mixed reviews. I've got a lot I don't like about Yahtzee but I'll give him this... he reviewed the game past halfway, maybe all the way to completion. Hence, he was able to see that it turned into a pile of shit about halfway through.

I loved the first one, actually just finished it last week, and was going to buy this once it came down from the $60 its at now. Have to say that's not going to happen now. Most review sites put in an hour or two and then mail it in. ZP totally nails it with the Indigo Prophecy line. The developers felt that only the first half of the game needed to be worth a damn as that's probably all that most reviewers will get out of it. After that they are free to "cock it up" as no one that matters will notice. Haven't played this title but I did pay for and then play Indigo Prophecy and it pissed me off pulling that shit.
