Because like music, TV's worthless anymore. Back when Cheers was the highest rated show, 2 and a half men wouldn't have even made it on TV, let alone be one of the highest rated shows with the highest paid actor. TV has hit such a low state that I wouldn't be surprised if Pauly Shore got a show next year and he went on to become the highest paid actor on TV. What Charlie gets paid here isn't impressive when his competition is...

shit I can't even name another show that's on. He's competing against crap, and his crap is just slightly better, but that doesn't mean it's not crap. And it just so happens the average TV viewer of 2 and a half men isn't old enough to remember when TV actually had good TV shows on. Ignorance is bliss I suppose

So I take it you think you are smarter than everyone else in the country then.

What's your claim to fame, it sure can't be income?

So lucky = smart now?

I had no idea that was the case. Charlie's only an actor because of his dad (pure luck)
he's the highest paid actor on tv because there's literally nothing on tv (again pure luck)
Everything he has is attributed to luck, I will give him props for being uber lucky, but that's all. If a person won 500 million in the Mega Millions I wouldn't say they're smart, I'd say they're lucky. But based off how you think they'd have to be smarter than Sheen because they had more money than him right? And while he technically may be the highest paid actor, there are plenty of people on TV who make more money than him. I bet Oprah makes more in a month than he'd make in a year on 2 1/2 men

so that means Oprah > Charlie

Well yeah Oprah would probably be 'better' as a humanitarian than Charlie.

Just a couple tidbits for you. There are no smart poor people that apply themselves. There are poor people that think they are smart, but even if they were they are freaking lazy...

secondly, there is a huge reason lottery winners are shunned from almost all wealthy social circles. Palm Beach will not allow them to buy any property there.

So, since you are obviously so smart how about making something of yourself that trumps Charlie Sheen.

I can't because I don't have the LUCK he does. In cases like Charlies, luck trumps hard work every time.

Lolz, that's the cry of those that don't want to do anything with their lives and expect someone to hand them a life on a silver platter.

While Charlie is indeed lucky...it doesn't take any luck to make yourself wealthy.

It does take work, attitude and aptitude. Most of which are lost on those that cry that chant you are.

How'd he get to be the highest paid tv actor?

Pay doesn't always equal quality. Some of the highest paid athletes have been the biggest busts and some of the lowest budget movies have been massive successes.

Sheen isn't where he is because he's a Brando, he's where he is because he had his dad and his brother's success in the mid 80s to leverage himself into Platoon and Wall Street, where he did perform well enough (before I was born, like I said) to open further doors, which he was able to capitalize on.

Not to mention the mainstream usually dictates pay, and mainstream success often does not overlap with critical success.

Look at all the haters. Charlie was more hard work than luck and people love his TV Show... you should be concentrating on your own life to try and earn 1/500th of what he has.

Allow me to feed some trolls....

What a ridiculous discussion. Charlie Sheen has money. But he always had money. He was an actor, but then again, so are all of his siblings and father. Charlie Sheen has a good career, but were his shoes unfulfillable? How many other children will ever get the chance to attempt what he did? Even most athletes have more competition for their job than Sheen does and genetics plays a much larger part in sports.

I can claim to be the best person at balancing keyboards on top of light posts, but if very few people ever do what I've done, then what good is it? Charlie Sheen will compete against far fewer people than the average nurse or teacher will. Not only will his competition be fewer, but his worst moments are left on the cutting room floor or covered up and his best moments are recorded for all to see. A nurses worst moments could leave them without a job.

Will I ever personally have as much money as Charlie Sheen? Who knows. Only a defeatist suggests otherwise. However, I can tell you that as of yet, I've not had any illegitimate children that have been pulled from my house and I've never overdosed on cocaine.

I've got no problem with what Charlie Sheen is doing. Keep the spotlight on you as long as you want bud. But I'm not going to sit here and watch people pretend to cut down teachers and nurses while they bolster a drug addict with a tv crew. Trolling or not, your arguments are ridiculously stupid. More so than Charlie Sheen's interviews.

"Warner Bros TV: "No Discussions" With Charlie Sheen For 'Two And A Half Men'
By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Thursday April 14, 2011 @ 1:01pm PDTTags: Charlie Sheen, Two and a Half Men, Warner Bros. TV
Nellie Andreeva

Following recent statements by Charlie Sheen that he has been "in discussions" to return to Two and a Half Men, the hit CBS sitcom he was fired from last month, one of the two layers representing Men producer Warner Bros TV has fired off a letter to Sheen's litigation attorney Marty Singer. The letter, obtained by TMZ, calls Sheen's statements "false." "As you know," John Spiegel wrote, "there have been no discussions, there are no discussions and there will be no discussions, regarding his returning to or having any involvement with the series." Ouch!"

I love how he came out talking about the new Major League movie that was in the word, none of the original co stars want anything to do with it. Then he claims HBO's offering him mega millions to do some show, HBO wasn't offering shit. Then he goes on to say CBS really wants to get him back and the show on the air. CBS's lawyers call him bat shit crazy and say there's been none and won't be any discussions between them.

It's sad how delusional this guy is, I wonder if the Coke has him believing his own bullshit?

Personally he's just having a laugh at everyone's expense.

Anytime he mentions something like this it becomes 'media', then those at WB have to get legal involved to quell it. Otherwise it's goes on record and they don't counter that, the way our legal system works it could be bad. Just like if a mortgage company never tells the customer they haven't made a payment in a year and finally tries to collect on it.

He's yanking their chain and dudes here (which is just proving the definitely of misfit/nerds).

He's funny and controversial, anyone worshiping him or kicking their dog over him has MAJOR ISSUES.

Anyone else realize that in ancient Rome, actors were one of the lowest classes of people? I think they had it right. I don't know why our society idolizes them.

Actors in Rome weren't funny, nor did they do cocaine.
