well my post election thoughts
Alberta -- we almost are fully Blue...but there is apparently going to have edmonton strathcona recounted maybe...it was kinda close...but i guess no surprise on anything there
Saskatchewan -- almost all blue (dammit regina) well that was obvious as the sask is falling in line with Alberta
greens -- this proves that they are not a real party, they should be held with the same status as the communist and mary-jane parties because well 5% isn't enough (and sad for them they were probably mostly "protest" votes) and May was stupid enough to run against Mckay....lol bad move there
NDP -- well i was hoping for a better show then that but they still gained strength i really thought they would have more support and hit 50 seats...pipedream i guess
Bloc -- well they did what they do best and win Quebec...not much to say after that
Liberals -- hahahaha the Dion choice bit them in the ass i guess, but they still kept some a lot of power...better luck next time i guess
Conservatives -- good show they almost pulled it off...i guess they need 12 people to cross the floor for a majority...will it happen no...but will everything become a confidence motion...maybe...good show by harper alot of people hate him but this once again proves that he is canada's choice and well you cannot argue with that. although interesting fact, my friend got security clearance at the harper HQ and shook the mans hand...apparently it was limp...i guess i'm giving the liberal and Ndp people in this some good information, but yeah limp handshake
My perspective 3 years then an early election again but it will be because of a failed confidence motion...or atleast my guess
My election night...being 17 and a political science major kinda sucks at this point so I went to a random house party and didn't get word of what happened until 1AM...I guess I kinda knew what was gonna happen but whatever next time i get to vote
oh and for good fun i give you this quote from the CBC
"If the kids five years up could have voted, I would have won in a landslide," she told supporters at her campaign headquarters.
from the greens May lol
oh and from their forums one of the higher recommended posts
Harper should resign immediately. He has cost the Canadian tax payers three-hundred million dollars for an election. He himself said a minority government was not working, so why should he continue working in this manner ? What a waste of money ! And for what ? NOTHING !!!!
that one made me laugh...i really hope people realize that more Canadians want him in power then the others but that one has made my day so far...the ignorance of unemployeed people on the cbc forums (btw i'm in english class at the u of c right now...not unemployed here)
