i would suggest you never use a debit card on the internet. The chances of someone clearing out your account is too high. At least with a credit card, you get some protection. If someone gets your debit card, kiss your checking account goodbye.

That is no longer unilaterally correct. Many banks now offer the same protections for debit cards. Mine does.
