I just ordered BC2...I wasn't a huge fan of the demo but 50%+ of my XBL friends bought it and say it's MUCH better overall than the demo (plus I had nearly $25 of Amazon credit on my account that I didn't realize I had...and they're offering $20 credit for purchasing). Figured I'd give it a whirl...if I hate it I'll turn around and sell it locally or go to gamestop since they're offering an extra 50% trade in credit.

i have it on playstation 3 --- only becuase my friends decided to do it on this one.

oh well. hopefully i get some atot people also.

Honestly I didn't much care for the demo but I figure it'll arrive next week and I go on vacation on Saturday. If by Friday I don't like it I'll sell it.

$20 Amazon credit if you buy it from there (which I will definitely use) so it's essentially $40. I tell you what, Amazon is getting ALL my video game purchase money as long as they keep offering VG credit with purchases.

Also, this is one game you'll want to buy new. It comes with a DLC code for extra maps and such, if you get it used you'll miss out on that.

Kabob - let me know what you think once you play it on the 360. I bought it for the PC (and love it), but I'm not opposed to getting it for the 360, too, provided it doesn't come with as much suck as the 360 beta did.

I'll give you my honest opinion. I'm already biased against it but on the AVS thread they're raving about how good it is (guys who's opinions I trust).

Apparently it's MUCH more team focused and it's tough to be a single dominant player without a good team behind you. The lows (as I said before) are the "sluggish, robotic" feeling and having to get used to another control scheme.

PS3- GuitarrassDeAmor

Today it is saying I cannot connect to the EA servers after trying many times including turning PS3 off and resetting network connections...😡

I'm also on this for 360

gamertag = pLmpjuice

I think its very fun and I am enjoying it more then mw2. I think I just got burnt out from mw2 cause it seemed like the same thing over and over. I like the teamwork aspect of BC2.

See you guys online

Kabob, if you are primarily a MW player, it'll take a few hours/sessions to get used to the different engine and playstyle but then hopefully you'll love it. It is much rougher than MW starting out though. The level up unlocks are much more important than some of the ones in MW

Add me. I'll be playing tonight after I play a few rounds of Street Fighter with a coworker.

Even the campaign in BC2 is awesome. Love this game

Well I got impatient and picked up the 360 version (already have the PC version). MAN they were busy between the demo and the final release: this game is TIGHT. It doesn't look nearly as good as the PC version (obviously) or even MW2 (the selling of which helped fund my purchase), but the fun factor more than makes up for it.

And that's probably why a lot of MW2 people won't like it. They like to just camp and wait to get the next kill streak unlock and don't like to use teamwork.

The teamwork aspect is unparalleled. It's awesome when you're sitting in the respawn queue and suddenly you jump back to life because one of your boys has your back and jump started your ticker. The queue is only 10 seconds so it's not like it's a long wait or anything, but if you were holding down a key point on the map, that medic just did the entire team a real solid by bringing you back.

Being a sniper is FUN. I love spotting for my team and taking down baddies from a digital mile. The bullet travel time and bullet drop - two things I was certain were going to annoy me - are SWEET. In no game in the history of gaming has sniping been suspenseful... but aiming a click or two above the melon and then waiting a second to see if you were right is exciting and quite rewarding.

Deaths don't feel cheap, and thus far I can't think of a single cheap tactic that's been used. In that sense, the game is quite "grounded". Generally speaking, you're not going to get killed and start saying "wtf wtf wtf" in your head (your standard lag, notwithstanding). The game is simply inherently balanced.

Lastly, I've never been a huge fan of vehicles (not even in BF2), but they were, unequivocally, done RIGHT in this game. Unlike W@W, vehicles weren't done for "vehicles sake"; they're not a novelty and they're not over/under-powered. They feel right and they fit in the game just as well as your trusty M1911.

Finally got around 3300 points in a round and came in first...did it a lot in the beta, but the real game seems a lot harder (which I like). I was the machine gunner in a tank and kept getting kills, and did what I hated, which was basically camp (albeit I couldn't help it as the guy didn't move the tank, but it was closer to our base and the idiots kept coming in the line of fire). I absolutely loathe UAVs, and helicopters are annoying when they target single people. Tanks are the same way. I finally got the SAW, and really like that, especially the 200 bullets. Just got my defibs as well, so I'll be happy to start using those. Just turned level 7.

I've been having fun with the game. I've only been playing hardcore mode as I couldn't stand the "your killer" camera.

I've spent the majority playing as an engineer, but used the medic some and then moved to the recon class in order to attempt unlocking the goodies. I'm curious what the sniper spotter thingy does. Anyone unlocked it yet? I thought it was odd that DICE has the 4x and 12x scopes in the recon class's upgrade path. The 4x reduces your zoom and the 12x appears to be the same as the regular rifles. 😕

I like the vehicle upgrades. Sometimes I forget which one I chose, though. I've been using the shorter reload time. It allows you to rain down the Hellfires from the UAV a lot quicker. You also win the one on one battles with tanks...the majority of the time. 🙂

Overall I think there's a good variety with the maps; varied terrain, large open battles and closed in building confrontations. I like the dense jungle of the first engagement on Valparaiso. The fall colors on Isla Inocentes are cool. The first engagement is definitely a sniper showdown. The attackers have to make use of the choppers to advance. The map Nelson Bay is an interesting change. For those without the VIP version of the game, it's a night map with snowy terrain.

The recon class is amazingly fun. Spotting enemies, throwing motion detection mines, calling in mortar strikes along with the very fun sniping.
I've only got about 2 hours in so far but I'm liking it a lot.

5200 points in a game with the medic on the scoreboard. I love this game...even though I only got a 0.61 KD/R or so, it was hella fun healing and reviving teammates while defending a lone objective, and we won! The SAW is my favorite gun so far for medic with the red dot or 4x scope.
