Crap. There's a market correction underway?

I read here that there will be upto 12% decline in some stocks.

Damn...he's suggesting you resume trading in a couple of months. That's not good for someone that's just starting out their portfolio.

But you can order your stocks during closed hours and they'll be trading market open the next day.

That seems to be a bug with VSE. GES did split and VSE will take ~1 week to correct it's numbers.

By right, I should lock the game since anyone joining after the Feb 27 "Black Tuesday" crash is at an advantage. :D
Those who invested immediately after the game started that Monday lost $5,000 worth the next day.

But I'll leave it open ;)

I had hoped they would have fixed it by now.
I played the "non-Beta" original version (game.marketwatch.com) last year and my BRCM had a 2:3 split. I emailed them 3-4 times for a month regarding the issue and no response, nothing changed.

We shall see...

I'm finally back in the Black :thumbsup:
I was 11th/12th out of 12th place for almost a month and hated it...Now I'm 6th.

The GES split numbers still hasn't been fixed...

That's some nice pick you have there...Been researching/monitoring it for the past week and wanted to take the plunge myself on the 28th but when I saw it was scheduled for a 2:1 split on the 30th, I said hell naw.
It's nice you weren't much affected by the bug, and it only took them 2 days to correct yours.

I am still bearish on this market. I just don't believe the sub-prime mortgage meltdown will be as contained as "big money" is saying it will be. However, if the market continues putting up decent numbers - without the occasional distribution days - then I will go long again (will continue to short housing related stocks, though).

At this point I am thankful that JSDA wasn't available to short in my real account, but I still think Cramer will destroy JSDA like he has done many other stocks (one of the latest being GMKT - he pumped it in Dec and it crashed hard last month).

Do you mean you were going to buy it in real-life before the split, or in the game? In real life, I've had GROW on and off in my real portfolio since 2006, and has been one of my top performers. I'm not sure why the game has such a hard time with splits -- you'd think they'd have that bug fixed by now since it's a regular occurrence with stocks.

I meant in the game, not real life.
I don't own a portfolio on anything...I'm just a poor college student who manages his mother's portfolio.
