Vindication, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've heard it all year. The Bucs have no O-line, no running game, no speedy receivers, small D-line, and average corners. Nobody gave this offense any credit. Even the defense were getting back-handed compliments.

The offense played great. The defense played great. (Okay, Tupa sucked, but he'll be the first one waived).

This is sweet satisfaction to all those suffered through the 0-26 start, the Lemon Bennett years, Ray "the next Vince Lombardi" Perkins, "offensive genius" Sam Wyche, colorblind Vinny Testaverde, the various Repus bowls, being rejected by Parcells, and the cheap-ass Hugh Culverhouse.

Finally, I loved how Gruden brought up Dungy's name when handed the Lombardi trophy. It's great how often Gruden and the players credit Tony Dungy for the work he did to bring the team from Yucks to a competitive team.

I'm not shutting up any time soon. Good try, though...

Maybe the game wont shut you up but it will make you look like an idiot if you try to talk about the Raiders in the Super Bowl again......

No, it won't. The Raiders were the next best team today. The Buc's won. Happy?!
You're a poor example of the Team you claim for fame.
What we'll be talking about is how to rebuild a team that won't have the same line up next year. The Raider Nation never quits.

The Raider Nation may never quit, but they don't win super Bowl's either ;) :D

<--Still upset that the Raiders beat the Jets :|

Well ,maybe not this year, but a damn sight closer than anyone else! :D I thought the last few games were real nail biters, unlike today which was more of a foot in mouth- er. OY,
Hey, they get paid even when they lose, so I'm over it already!

Im just saying that Tampa hasnt got the respect they deserve all year and now they have won the super bowl. This thread was flooded with people saying the bucs dont stand a chance and they POUNDED the raiders.

tampa hasn't gotten any respect because they've choked in the big games since they were first put into the league. now they finally won the big game and want everyone to act like they have always been the best, which isn't true. i'm not bashing tampa, hell they are my second favorite team behind the raiders. but i'm also not going to stop cheering for the raiders nor am i going to look like an idiot for saying the raiders will have another chance at the big game. they got screwed out of it last year, made it this year, and it's only natural that within the next few years they make the next step. you can cheer the bucs and enjoy the victory, but don't be a complete ass about it.

Well, that statement is ridiculous for the simple fact that they are the NFC / NFL Champs and you don't get to play in the Super Bowl if you suck that much. I never said anything like that.
Ya'll need to lighten up a bit and let the team do your talkin'. As they did this afternoon. Kinda the way I feel about the goons that get all painted up and wear costumes. I mean GEEZ... leave the wardrobe to the WWE... Good game by the Buc's D, too. 5 interceptions and TD's will win games every time.

im a raider fan, my thoughts on the game...

going into the game i was hoping it would be close. i figured the raiders have a slight edge in talent but the bucs have a huge edge in coaching. in this game i figured gruden would be the ultimate factor, and he was. as bucs strong safety lynch said on the sideline in the 2nd quarter "every play they've ran we ran in practice, its unreal" although the defensive line for the bucs played well, it was the play of the secondary that made all the difference. they knew exactly where to be and what the recievers would do. gannons pump fakes didnt do anything. having gruden on the bucs sideline was basically the equivalent of having the raiders playbook. he exploited his knowlege of the raiders offense brilliantly. unfortunetely the one team the raiders couldnt afford to play ended up meeting them in the superbowl.

im not sure how i feel about the bucs winning. i suppose im indifferent. i never like to see players like warren sapp win anything (he's nothing but a loud mouth idiot) and i hold a bit of animosity toward gruden for not being more loyal to the raiders, but other than that its really not that bad. this loss doesnt even compare to the "loss" last year vs the pats, or the loss against the ravens the year before. i guess i feel disappointment most of all, not for the loss but for the matchup. why did they have to be playing vs gruden?

about the officiating - yeah the pass interferance call w/ about 11min to go in the 4th was bad (the ball was uncatchable), and jerry porter clearly was forced out of bounds on that 2pt conversion w/ 6min to go, but when its all said and done the officiating was pretty good. nobody should be complaining about it.

My buddy's and I talked about that though, that flag was thrown a month before the ball reached him because of his interference was well before the possible catch... just because it was uncatchable in the end his actions before were not something players should practice and be let go on.

I agree, Woodson does this all the time and when it's called, Raider fans get upset.

What struck me about the officiating was how horribly wrong the wrong calls were. Like I said in my first post the Bucs "fumble" in the first quarter is a prime example. Both knees hit, his whole body hits, then the ball bounces outta his hand. And they called that a fumble...

Woodson should've been called for holding, but not interference. That ball looked to be a yard outta bounds and the wideout could still only get a fingertip on it.

Good defense? You are talking about the other side of the ball, right? That would be Tampa Bay's side ;)

Tampa Bay Bucs are World Champions!!!

That Interception/TD with 2 seconds left just capped off a poor showing by the Raiders against the #1 Defense.

I told someone Philly would tremble with fear when they see #99 on the Offense, That also went for Oakland. Sapp went on Offense, a TD is usually a result;)

Oh ya, Gruden did 'train' the bucs to interpret (sic?) the Raiders audibles/body language when they change plays at the line, thus the Bucs 'D' did know alot of times what was coming!!! I can't believe the Raiders didn't change anything!!!!

I will be waiting at Raymond James Stadium for them to arrive this evening to greet them back as WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Fixed some typos

Am I missing something? Last I checked, Gruden was traded......I don't remember him demanding a trade, or just up and leaving......Loyalty? I think the Raiders showed where their loyalty lied when they accepted the $8 million and draft picks..........

This means that the Niners lost to the best team in Football when Tampa punked them in their playoff game against them. It also makes the Niners owner Dr Yorks decision to Fire Mooch after that game look even dumber. Mariucci obviously did a pretty good job with a team whose defense was pretty well decimated with injuries. At least they didn't embarrass themselves like the Raiders did. That fact should help Mariucci get a Head Coaching Job.

Why are people still posting to the "WHO WILL WIN POLL" the day after the game was played?
Don't think the Raiders are gonna win this game today !

And why did so many post TAMPA BAY after the 2 minute warning?

Oh, by the way, for those of you who care - your crow is ready, happy eating.
