Personally, I'm a JETS fan. But as to the winner, I say Raiders because no one can escape the black hole! :D

I love being the underdog, we have been the severe underdog the last 2 games, and soundly whipped our competition. THere has been an increase in people/media voting for the Bucs, too.

The Raiders have lost more games, some to lame teams, it will come down to who makes less mistakes, again, I think TB will force more mistakes.

Packer fan, so I hate the Bucs naturally.
And then the Raiders... well they left LA and Rich Gannon won the MVP over Brett Favre.

Damn Straight! Go Wisconsin(Where I'm From)!

Well, I'm a Saints fan. Being a fan of the Saints, I don't generally Tampa Bay. However, I'm not a big fan of the western US in general (not the people, just everything else about it), so I automatically want any California team to lose.

I also think that Tampa Bay can pull it off, even though I really like Mr. Rice. I'll say Tampa Bay over Oakland 33-31.

By the way, there sure are a lot of new avatars. You guys have been busy.

The Bucs will win.

You guys are forgetting about the most important guy in the game. John Gruden. The way he calls games is masterful to say the least. Just look what he did to Philly! He knew his WRs were overmatched with that great Philly secondary, but he cleverly used his assets to create mismatches! Come on, using tight ends to get Keyshawn one on one with a linebacker???

The bucs defense is much better than you guys give them credit for. Why are you Raider fans telling us that you will win because we have average DBs??? Duh we have average DBs, it's the cover pattern they use that make them great. If it were one on one all the way across the board, yes, Tampa's Secondary would get smoked. But that's the beauty of the cover 2 defense. They dont ahve to cover the Raider Wrs one on one. The DB's job is to funnel the WRs to the middle of the field where Tampa's linebackers can take away the big plays, this is the beauty of Tampa Bay, they dont give up the big ones because they use every single one of thier assets. And you guys talk about the Raider's offensive line like they are perfect.. Umm... no. Do u guys really think that the lumbering O-Line of Oakland can contain the lightning quick D-Line of Tampa? I believe that Oakland's O-Line will contain Sapp and the other Dts very well. But I just dont see Barry Sims (Left tackle) standing a chance against Simeon Rice. Rice is two fast and Sims is reported to be a technique blocker. Rice's outside speed is nto going to let Sims use his techniques. And what about the famous 9 men in the box blitz Tampa brings with Brooks and Lynch both blitzing? How will Gannon react? Will he force a throw? Probably not. Will he scramble? He wont get much against Tampa's quick defense. But he'll have to deviate from his original play. That may not seem like a big deal, but it goes with disrupting Gannon's rythm in the game and taking away the big plays. What about he devasting corner blitz from Barber? I jsut want you Raider fans to remember it's not going to be a 5 or 6 on 4 up front. The Oakland O-Line wont dominate and Gannon wont have eternity to throw, Tampa just wont let that happen.

Nice breakdown....too bad you overlooked something important. Yes the Cover 2 is designed to help protect average DB's against most passing teams....problem is that the Raiders O was designed to defeat zone coverages like the Cover 2.

As evidenced by their defeat of the Jets in the second round of the playoffs. The Jets zone defense ended up grasping at air. Still, I expect Gruden to pull a few tricks out of his bag to slow down the Raiders O. The real key to this game is going to be the Bucs O against the Raiders D and I think Johnson is going to have a bad day. In the end, it will come down to who shows up with the best QB on gameday and the outcome of turnovers.

Edit: Go Raiders!!! :D

Jon Gruden's playcalling is BORING. For such a mastermind, his playcalling is pretty vanilla. I guess that's what happens when all your WRs are possession receivers and your running game is anchored by 3 men who can't break tackles nor run away from people. And did I read you correctly? You praised TB for getting Keyshawn matched up with LBs against Philly, then you praised TB again because you think their LBs will end up covering Oaklands' receivers? The LB vs WR is always a mismatch, but you flip-flopped in favor of TB there, I think. Oakland has gotten this far not by big plays but with their cheezy, yet well-executed, sh!t 10-yard passes. For a guy who put up such big numbers, Gannon was a boring QB to watch this season. I think Oakland will win, but I'm wanting TB to win by 6.
