UPDATE: teh site will be back up there in a moment, anyone that sent me pics in teh past week will most likely need to resend them

OK lets get this thing started. The ATOTs first of many Photo Contests,

RULES
- im thinking 2 weeks for submissions 2 weeks for judgeing/ voteing
- 1 Entry per photographer per artistic section there are 6 sections so you can submit 6 photos, so if you submit a photo in DSLRS - Landscapes you cannot submit another landscape pic in the other camera sections
- USE your own work
- Be honest about you camera level
- Winners will be based on viewer ratings and Votes and maybe a finial say from some judges as a tie breaker (so vote and leave comments)
- tey to keep immages smaller then 1600x1200 andless then 1 meg or less in size

Submitting Photos
- you will need to email photos to contest@rootminus1.com as either an attachment or a URL where the photo can be obtained
- In the Email include the CAMERA SECTION & ARTISTIC SECTION the photo is going in along with your AT User Name

You're going to do this once a year? "First annual photo contest".

IMO you should only allow submissions within a certain time frame. One month's time before the submission date or something.

Anubis, if my camera is not a f717/707 or a G4/G5 is it a P&S then? Also, what did you guys decide on the time frame of the pictures? Do they have to be taken from today on? or can we use older photos?

you can use older photos if you want, new ones are good as well

the f717/707 and g4/g5 are definitly prosumer cameras because they have a plethera more features then say a A70

Pulse8, the G2 is a great camera but by todays standards its prob a Point and shoot, but you can have me put the images in the prosumer cat if you want

Just because I'm curious, why would it be considered a point and shoot compared to the G4 or G5? Resolution?

because of its age mainly, resolution and features woudl also play into it

anyway the submitter decides where they go not me, i was just giveing an example
