I really dislike a lot of the absurd "swag rap" that's churned out but goddamnit Young L got it right with Coupe Life. His production is constantly setting him apart.

I've never really been big into rap/hip-hop, but I've been listening to more lately. I stumbled upon Sandpeople and Grieves through an Rdio station and I've been digging it.

This is kind of interesting. While still a decent track, it blends the element of hip hop with something farther outside of the comfort zone, creating something a bit more different than usual.
But Ladybug Mecca of Digable Planets is worth the listen all on it's own.

CX KiDTRONiK - Lady's Krak P.S.A. (ft. Ladybug Mecca & Lady Miss Kier)

Album came out recently featuring some of the other artists from Stones Throw.

Thank you for dropping links on some stuff that I never heard of. I am expanding my Russian Hip-Hop/Rap collection to more instrumentals and ambient stuff.

Recently, I have been listening to a lot of Jay-Z's old albums. I think "The Blueprint" was super solid and I have been jamming.

"Reasonable Doubt" is pretty cool, also. I might pull out my old CD collection and see what Hip Hop stuff I still have. Really dying to find the second CD to the 2pac Greatest Hits album :(

I can't bring myself to listen to the radio anymore....

The Rap stations play really crappy stuff (chief Keef, 2chainz..etc) and then top 40 stations keep playing Macklemore who is just TURRIBLE. That "can't hold us" song is the worst. His rhymes are stupid....like...I just can't stomach that. I actually looked up the lyrics to his silly rhymes in that song and I just couldn't understand why it has been getting play. I wonder how some of these songs become hits....

Totally overlooked Hopie dropped Sugar Water earlier in the month.
Haven't heard it yet. But will get around to it.
She always on point though.

Gotta get Sirius XM and listen to Backspin. That's the number 1 station on my preset.

I don't particularly like or dislike JayZ but this ad campaign/theme for his new album is crossing into Kanye realms of pretentiousness. The one where he's in the studio with Timbaland/Rubin/Pharrel/Swizz is a massive circlejerk.
