I really cannot afford to do it this year.
Money is tight and I need to get in the habit of smart spending. I stopped going out to eat. Looked over some services I dont really need and cut back a little. Use coupons at the discount grocery store. Stopped buying new video games (Steam backlog should keep me busy for decades).
Its not so much that Secret Santa costs a lot. Its more that I just gotta be smarter from now on. Downright frugal. (Though I have not yet sunk so low as to raid garbage bins or rip off the penny tray).

I already offered an explanation as to why I couldnt and got jumped by several members here.
I dunno, maybe if I'm feeling generous I'll just go to the nearest Toys R Us and put some stuff in their donation box. I think its Toys For Tots most of the time.

Last year we had 26 total, so 9 more than where we currently are. We were debating not doing it with last year's turnout and we haven't reached a decision for this year as the deadline hasn't happened. Will keep you all posted.
