I just placed my order for a 4400 with tankguys. The thought of dual core in my box soon makes me happy.

Can someone from tankguys confirm if an order placed on the morning of 6/7 still fits in the pre-order quantity you have coming in or will it be coming from a second shipment sometime in the future?

Thanks...

Read the very first post of this thread. It lists Retail version from tankguys, thus it comes with HSF.

Yes, you do still fit into our pre-order allotment, but barely.

I am in the process of notifying all my pre-order customers right now, but for those who might read this forum before I can e-mail, there is a chance our shipments are going to be delayed until the 15th.

Right now, our order status is showing that as the delivery date, rather than today. Now, we actually had placed a couple of orders, so there is a chance that the 15th is the date of our 2nd arrival, and we are still getting our first group today.

I'm working hard to find out for sure, and doing my best to make sure we can still get our original shipment in today. The problem here is that I don't have a whole lot of control over shipments like this, and this potential delay is outside of our control.

That being said, it still frustrates the heck out of me, because we were promised the 7th as our delivery date, I hate to dissapoint my customers like this, and it reflects very badly on us in any case. So I've been making some phone calls today to try and find out for sure, and of course I'll keep everyone updated as I find out more information.

I'm still holding out hope that we are getting the shipment in today though, but I thought I'd keep up the promise to notify everyone of any possible status change.

Thanks for the update TankGuys, anyone with any common sense knows that problems like this happen and are out of the retailer's control.

Yea, but it's still very frustrating. The thing is, I like to say I still very much retain my "customer" perspective on things. I know how incredibly frustrating it is to have your order delayed when you're excited to get it. I have a few pre-order customers who spent the extra ~$20 for overnight shipping so they could get it even sooner, and now I have to tell them it might be another week? You're right, it was completely beyond our control, but I feel guilty all the same.

I am also a bit annoyed with AMD for possibly having waited until the last possible minute to notify us like that.

I'm still really hoping it's a moot point, as we may still be getting our original 200 today anwyay; so I just hope that's still true!

That must mean they've confirmed their OEM shipment with their supplier. Good to hear.

Hopefully Tiger is getting their OEM CPUs in a similar time frame.

Wish I was in the states... in the UK pre-order prices look pretty high ->
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ (Retail) £339.95 ex vat
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Retail) £369.95 ex vat
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ (Retail) £514.95 ex vat
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ (Retail) £639.95 ex vat

Once you add vat (17.5% tax) it goes to AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ (Retail) £751.94
which is equivalent to $1369.20
Ouch :(

It's the least we can do. It's not as if it takes up an obtrusive portion of my day and keeps me from my other work. Even if it did, I'm the boss, so I can do what I want

I'm still waiting on the final word for shipping yet today, so keep your fingers crossed.

Hey, I'm looking to get a new system now. Only thing is I've got the majority of components set up at Newegg, but there's certain things they don't have that I want, like an x2 and Antec's P-180.

I have a couple of questions. First, your picture of the P-180 has it painted black, but Antec has it as silver/aluminum? I was rather hoping for the silver/aluminum. Also, can I get a decent heatsink/fan/thermalpaste from you as well? Also, I don't see any options to add any appropriate fans to the P-180, which has been an issue for every site I've looked at.

I'm not using you to build everything though, I'm getting the ASUS A8N-E motherboard which you don't offer on your site. But you seem to be reliable for shipping the dual-core athlons.

I did notice something with pricing though; you have TWINX2048-3200C2 memory at $318.00 while Newegg's charging $265.00 for that same memory.

Other than that though, I'd like to get the case and CPU from you, at least.

I'm pretty sure it's the silver case. Sorry for the confusion, changing that picture is on the "to do" list for my web guys.

Secondly, I can probobly get ahold of an A8N-E. We actually carry close to 90,000 items, but we only list about 1200 on our website. The reasonig for this is long and boring, so I shall spare you.

The X2's have most likely been pushed back until the 15th for shipping. On the bright side, if you order both an X2 and the P180 case, you'll get free shipping on both, as I'll just ship them together once we get the X2's in.

Finally, Yes, newegg kills us on price sometimes. I honestly don't know how, but they can just sell some things very cheap. As I've said before, our markup is identical on every item we sell, meaning we make the exact same amount on a cable as we do on a processor. That memory that you were looking at, if we are charging $318, our cost on it is probobaly about $307 or so. So how Newegg can sell for $265 is a mystery to me, I wish I knew!

So in the case of that memory, it's obviously better to buy at newegg. I'm happy to concede defeat to those guys sometimes, that's just a fact of business.

Price on an A8N-E is $123.00, but if you end up ordering the X2 and the case I can work a bit on that price, probobly down to $119.00 (which I know isn't a huge difference, but keep in mind that pretty much kills my profit, since my markup is so small).

If you don't find it elsewhere and end up wanting to order it, PM me and I'll put it up on the webpage today.

Ok, I just wanted to know that it was the silver case. It's a relatively minor thing, but I got silver drives for it, etc and I'd be like "Oh no!" if it was the black one that shipped!

If you can get the A8N-E that'd be great. IF, if you can also get it with dual-core BIOS in it, that would be even better, although I'm making plans to get the proper BIOS into it, just in case. I prefer to use as few companies as possible to order my parts from, to keep things as simple for me as possible. I'll do some price comparisons between you and Egg and maybe switch some more component sales to you guys depending on how that turns out.

As for pricing different items, I have no idea how they sell low on that memory either. Selling at a loss to gain marketshare on that memory doesn't make sense as they seem to be focusing on the 2x512 modules at about $80 or so, their prices on those keep changing. The only thing I can think of is that they might have negotiated some deal with Corsair. Sort of like Dell does with Intel maybe? Who knows.

The idea of selling products under cost like that makes sense sometimes for sure. We dont' do that, because our returning customers come back because they have a good experience with us, not necessarily because we have dirt-cheap prices. Undercutting prices like that tends to send more price concious buyers, which isn't bad, but often times all they buy is the really cheap items which means you as a company don't make any money. At least, that was our experience when we tried that tactic.

Instead we do the flat markup route, and it works well. We have really good prices on some things, decent prices on others, and horrible prices sometimes when you compare to companies who might undercut...

Anyway, yes I can get ahold of that motherboard for you, shouldn't be a problem. As for your other components, if you don't see them on the site, just PM me with some model numbers and see what I can put together for you.
