The common term used when someone is pregnant is "The rabbit has died".
I hereby propose we change that term, specifically here on ATOT, to "the kitten has died"

Pregnancy test done many moons ago consisted of injecting a womens urine into a rabbit. If the rabbit died she was pregnant. I think this proved to be not very reliable but the term has stuck for centuries

I've never heard it (the rabbit phrase) either, but, then again I'd never heard about the elephant in the room saying. My wife thought that was odd. Since then I've heard it a few times.
