examiner.com - Battlefield 3 Armored Kill sets stage at Gamescom, DICE wants fan feedback

BATTLEFIELD 3 | AUGUST 13, 2012 | BY: BEN MILLER

As many of you know, the Gamescom 2012 video game convention is set to take place this week, starting tomorrow on August 14. In preparation for this event, Battlefield fans should take note that DICE will be showcasing the upcoming Armored Kill expansion pack for Battlefield 3.

In preparation for this showcasing, the official Battlefield Twitter account has proceeded onto teasing a photo of the event in preparation. As can be seen in the photo above, it has been confirmed that fans will be getting a taste of information on Battlefield 3, Armored Kill, and Battlefield Premium, at the EA press conference at Gamescom.

Gamescom will officially kickoff tomorrow, but Battlefield fans will probably be most focused on the timing of the EA press conference, of which will be showcasing Battlefield 3 Armored Kill as one of it's featured titles. The official EA press conference will start on Wednesday, August 15, at approximately 7:00 AM PDT. The EA press conference will be showcased through a live video feed over at EA.com. Also, be sure to view the slide-show above for Armored Kill screens, as well as the Armored Kill trailer below.

In other Battlefield 3 news, it seems that DICE is now reaching out to fans in order to find what players are having issues with the most in the game. Through a post on Reddit, a DICE representative has created a thread with the sole purpose of “finding and listing the most critical bugs/design walls/general stuff to dislike that is still present in [the] game to this day.”

Fans are being asked to list any concerns that they feel should be addressed, in order to improve on the overall experience with Battlefield 3. If you are having any specific issues with your experience with Battlefield 3, be sure to contribute to the thread on Reddit.

I feel like I got gang raped, money taken from my wallet, and kicked to the curb...

Even thought I got BF3 with $15 off bday code last year, This will probably be the last time I buy expansion packs and such.

What a bunch of cheap whiny little bitches. The premium edition is good for anyone looking to get into the game and want an all in one package. If I did not already have BF3, this would be what I'd get.

With that said, I paid full price for the game when it first came out and I've put 200+ hours into the game already, can't say the same thing about a lot of other games out there.

This. I only played 153 hours but still feel like I got my money's worth. Hoping to do at least 100 more hours with all these new DLCs coming out. Maybe not as much as some people but I prefer zombie games.

LOL... I was being sarcastic... I have 300+ hrs and got my money's worth - I'm hoping the new pricing brings more cannon fodder to the servers...:sneaky:

You beat me to the post! Yeah, it also seems like there's a night map as well. I'm glad DICE listened to my wishes, I've always wanted a dusk and night map (Tehran Highway did not count).

That's OK, you got the coveted 10,000th post! Congratulations.

And people will continually fuel the EA cash grabbing machine.
Yes they will as long as they continue to pump out what people want to play.

I assume you haven't and aren't buying any of these DLCs, correct?

Dont like it, dont buy it, its as simple as that.

Kinda how I feel about DLCs. The BF3 premium is pretty much the first DLC i've ever bought at full price. All those COD map packs are a joke for what you paid for, however, with BF3, I feel the price is worthy of the content, so I'm OK with that. Beats dropping $15 bucks to watch a shitty IMAX movie *cough*The Dark Knight Rises*cough*

Congrats on the 10,000th post on this thread!

I agree... I paid full price for the premium pack and I felt it was worth it - I put in an additional 100 hours into that pack and hopefully more when the new content drops...

**SPOILER**

Anyhow, to help other people save $15 on the Dark Knigh Rises - this is pretty much how the ending was:

Joystiq - Battlefield 4 sticking to modern warfare

by Alexander Sliwinski on Aug 13th 2012 9:00AM

Battlefield 4 will be set in modern times, DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson revealed at GDC Europe today. The game, which was announced with no pomp last month, will have a beta sometime next year, but little else has been revealed. However, with a lag time of six years between Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 3, why did the studio go with Battlefield 4 so quickly instead of heading back to Bad Company?

"There's a lot of things inspiring us as to how the franchise will move on. Everything from fans' feedback, to market research and, of course, what we want to build ourselves. It's not just one single thing," said Troedsson, continuing with a hint of sarcasm. "And, yes, I know Battlefield 4 is probably the most creative name we ever could come up with. I can't comment any more on that game because it's all secret."

However, he did go on to say, "We still want to stay in this genre, the modern day as it is. We feel this is a place we can be and continue with the series. Battlefield 4 can live in this space and be very successful."

Hinting, in conclusion, "That doesn't mean there might not be a Bad Company game again in the future."

^^^^^^ was better than the fuggin movie.

I know this is not a film critique thread, but dammit, it was a bad movie. The hype about how good it was, was unbelievable compared to how disjointed and lame it was, I blame PG-13 and half arsed writing.

Waiting on my 7950 and Intel Gigabit NIC (lowers ping!!!) to get back into some BF3 soon.

I have found two new game modes that are really bringing joy to my gameplay experience:

1) Jihad (insert any vehicle here). Boy is it fun when you achieve victory!
2) Fly the attack chopper to a remote location on the map (then land), equip TV missile (and fast reload), and just sit there firing off TV missiles. I know this is selfish, but most random servers have pilots that don't deserve to fly. And there is nothing more rewarding than taking out tons of vehicles without anyone knowing where the missiles are coming from... works best in HC mode.

WOW, that sounds fun as hell, I need to do the TV missile spam trick. I did not know you can shoot TVs while helicopter is on the ground. Now I just need to be able to land the helo without crashing and burning.

if you get the heli high enough you can swap to the gunner shoot the TV missle and kill something and then hop back in the drivers seat and not crash

This TV missile trick sounds just like what I need to cure my BF3 doldrums.

Ive never used the TV missile much before, is there any way to invert the missile flight controls? I just tried it a little bit and it kept going down when I wanted it to go up. LOL
