I was looking to get it, but then saw the Premium shit. Not sure if I should just get that or forsake all the expansions.![]()
Honestly, if you feel like you'll probably be interested in at least one small portion of each DLC/Expansion Pack, I'd just pick up Premium.
Let me be up front about it: I'm not trying to sell you on the concept. BF3/EA have their problems, and each xpack will undoubtedly have things that many view negatively.
But personally, I've enjoyed what I've seen of BF3 thus far. CQ brought something different, but hell, it's almost like a different game.
I can already tell that Armored Kill will bring something different to the table. New weapons (that I may or may not use), new maps, and a new game mode available on those maps? Sure, I might not play on those exclusively for six months, but it's something I'll enjoy playing from time to time.
For me, I've already imagined each DLC will bring something I'll enjoy, be it a majority of the time or even once every 20 matches; the extra variety alone is enough imho.
If you feel the same way, hell, you might as well just pick up Premium.
Are they milking us for more than any of it is worth? Are they trying to get more out of the Battlefield franchise than they truly deserve? Are they giving us content that should have been available at launch?
That's for you to decide. I might answer Yes to some of those questions, but I already figured out that I would be buying each DLC. Four $15 xpacks for $50? It's a nice bit of change, and in the future I won't even feel like I spent anything for it.
Plus, you get a few decent perks for it all.
You also might feel like buying all the xpacks is not what you intend. If that is the case, don't buy Premium.
But honestly, if you feel you are even remotely interested in picking up each DLC release, at some point in time, I'd just get Premium. If for nothing else, at least you are screwing EA out of a few more bucks.
True, we really don't know what the last two xpacks will contain (Aftermath and Endgame), but I imagine I'll be at least remotely interested in what they offer. There are a few things about CQ I enjoy, and from what I've read/seen regarding Armored Kill, I am very excited.
In the end, it's your money, and I don't think it should be our decision whether you spend it or not.
