Was there one of the old Ghost Recon games where you needed to clear the back blast before firing or you would kill your team mates?

I saw a friend of mine on Origin playing MOH Warfighter earlier, some sort of first test party. I asked how it was and he said "great". I couldnt get him to chat, he was too enthralled with the game I suppose. Ill try to pry more out of him on TeamSpeak later.

I second that... When I kill someone for some reason afterwards sometimes I get a "suicide death" from a nade... I finally realized that I killed them before they threw their nade and it dropped next to me and exploded. Kind of hard to notice when you are in a heat of a firefight or rushing hard core style...:colbert:

Ive made that mistake before, that sucks.

I need one more aircraft kill with rpg/smaw, thought I had enough last night but must have miscounted.

I have had luck placing the claymore away from the door (off to the side and behind), less likely to be seen. They come in through the door and get an ass full of steel BBs.

What the heck are these assignments with claymores and AT aircraft rocket kills people are talking about? I bought the premium and all my assignments are complete (weapons and premium dog tags) unless I'm missing something else that doesn't show up on battlelog.

Unfortunately the weapon skins don't show up on the battlelog. Only on the end of round screen. Very annoying when you need to check what you have left.

And there is no real way to keep track of your progress in Battlelog, you have to wait till the end of the round to check your assignments.

shamelessly stolen from the thread on [H]:
F.E.A.R. said:
Borrowed this from the Steam forums. I sure liked what they said. The flags are definitely more meaningful.

Quote:
In Conquest Large, Bandar Desert is stretching as far as 1,900 meters from U.S. to Russian deployment, not counting the airstrip at the very end of the ground forces combat area. This is even longer than Fushe Pass from Battlefield 2. Bandar Desert is about as wide as it is long at the middle flags – it measures 1,900 meters from the mountain base furthest from the sea all the way to the beach at the south edge of the map.

As a comparison, Caspian Border is roughly 1,100 meters between the U.S. and Russian deployments — around 800 meters difference both in width and length. Should you count the distance between your spawned jet and the enemy spawned jet, you will end up with 2,400 meters on Bandar Desert. From the closest capturable flag to the furthest capturable flag, you are looking at around 1,200 meters. For Caspian Border, the equivalent distance is just about 400 meters.
Quote:
These were a few of the major requirements that I set for Bandar Desert. It should:
*Support grand scale vehicle gameplay with freedom of movement at long range
*Provide exciting dogfight gameplay for jets in huge mountain ranges
*Contain diversity in gameplay and intensity between different themes
*Offer a great visual diversity both in terms of palette and character
*Support all game modes without compromise
*Differ from the other three maps in the expansion both visually and in gameplay (I knew what the other maps would be after initial design discussions)
Quote:
Holding different flags on Bandar Desert will keep your enemy from valuable assets like tanks, helicopters, transport vehicles, and artillery to a larger degree than on the base game maps, so don’t feel safe with just holding four flags in Conquest Large. If you hold just the town and one more flag, the enemy will still have more valuable vehicles than you have if they hold the most outpost flags, making it difficult for you to hold that majority of the flags for long.

It's really all going to depend on the flag placement for Conquest.

From what they've described, it could be epic and I am stoked to play that map.
It sounds like there will be a healthy space between all contested points, so and with there being a few different "settings" in the map, every play style will have something to do, but likely won't be effective everywhere on the map.

This map will also be BEGGING for proper in-game VOIP... which we won't get.
If a squad can truly coordinate themselves (multiple squads coordinating too would be a plus), things will totally be in their favor I reckon.

I dont buy anything Dice says until I get to play the map. Map size means nothing unless the design is good. BF2 had huge maps but awesome design to go along with them.

Bf3 also lacks maps like Kubra Dam. that map was HUGE but damn interesting. Massive vertical battles across the huge canyons and stuff.

This new map just looks like another boring flat map without anything interesting. How about the rivers that snake through the entire map like in dragon valley, the muted but lush forests of Kubra dam with the giant still undercontruction of the dam that jets could fly through, the dozen capture points of fushe pass.

Mostly just pessimism over anything Dice can provide. Ive stopped playing Bf3 because it just isn't interesting anymore. In BF2 when I got bored, I would just spend every game camping enemy assets all day and pissing the hell out of the enemy team. No UAV support, No Artillery Support wrecks havok on a teams ability to function.

Can't do that in BF3 anymore.

I'm just tired of playing conquest and all it being is TDM with flags. The pacing on maps like Wake island which used to be a fairly slow-medium paced map now being a massive speed fest is just disgusting to me. Too much infinite running, non existant penalty to dying,
And nothing Dice has shown me has restored my faith in their ability to make a battlefield game.
