Sadly - I see it happen a lot. I will admit that I could be better about it but I am so gun shy of getting killed while reviving and having the revivee get killed instantly again I am sometimes overly cautious.

I will say that Saturday night I got to play with perhaps the best squad I have ever played with. It was three guys from the 507 clan and me. First it was understood that everyone should go with a different perk (Oh so many people ignore this). Then we had two medics, a support and a sniper. The sniper was there for spawn beacon and didn't camp with his shotgun. The play style was similar so it was easy to keep together and the ammo and revives were fast without ever needing to be requested. We took spots 1-4 on a 64 person metro server. They were nice too!

Yeah, in some maps/areas when I play as Assault, I'll go on a revive spree and just keep getting people revived in areas with mass deaths. But if it's more of a "stumble into the area" type thing, not sure where E are (or they have the area on lockdown) I'm more likely not to revive - especially if I'm trying to get away myself.
I love being revived, but I also hate people who revive me when there are E everywhere, and I get killed again before I can even move.

Then again, I still can't play yet. Been trying different/new drivers, different tweaks (even just flashed my mobo to the 3203 BIOS for my P8Z68 Deluxe - hoping for better video stability... and still BF3 hardlocks), etc. Dammit I can't play.
Haven't tried much in the way of non-CQ, though at one point a server with Dam Peak CTD'd, do need to try a vanilla BF3 server, one without any DLC addons).
Next up, apparently an even newer BIOS for my GPUs, and downgrade from Geforce 304.48 to 301.42 (I had skipped the WHQL entirely, from 301.24 to 304.48). If that doesn't solve it, I'll drop down to a single-monitor resolution - I'll be pissed if that is the only way to play though. Sure, it looks prettier, but dammit. Probably won't work either... this shit is buggered and DICE/EA hasn't said a damn thing regarding this (other than on the forums basically saying "duly noted").

Its funny, some (like me) bitch if they arent revived while others bitch if they are. D:

At least if you are revived and then die instantly before accepting then it doesnt count against you. I revive every chance I get for the points and just let em bitch. :D

This past weekend was the first time I had the time to take advantage of the double XP deal. I moved up five ranks from 50 to 55 and boosted my score per minute by about 45 points.

I'm not really a fan of the revival mechanic. I wish they had left it like BF2, when only Medic classes could revive. I think getting kicked back to a spawn point when you die creates an ebb and flow in the game that counters the "run-n-gun" tactic that seems to have taken root.

are ALL your drivers up to date, NIC and audio drivers have been linked to lock ups as well

I do need to update NIC, but I've never experienced any seemingly "network" related issues - it's very very VERY rare that I have a disconnect or anything, which tells me firewall and port access are fine (and aside from BF3 and PB in windows firewall, I have been fine without going to the extremes of messing with ports or disabling UPnP).

The Intel NIC driver is on my planned to do list still, but I have the latest Realtek drivers for my mobo's sound. And no, I do not think that is the issue as others have reported for them - it was always fine, and I do not get sound loops before any freeze/hardlocks. That, and I have disabled it in BIOS only to keep freezing when playing with my G35 (USB) headset. I have played with onboard audio and G35 since release, now it is freezing... I have updated all audio drivers. I haven't tried disabling "allow application to take control" for audio, but without any sound loops, it doesn't seem this is the issue anyhow.

I am running overclocks, but everything was great before. I've even upped the voltage (to 1063mV, from 1050mV) on my GPUs, AND dropped the clocks a tiny bit, but there has been no improvement.
If all these planned updates don't do anything, I'll try dropping down the GPU overclock quite a bit - but temps have all been reasonable, and they survive GPU stress testing.

You have to overvolt or underclock your GPU. It's a common/known issue since the beta.

It's quite OV'd already.

Stock for my 560 Ti 2GBs is somewhere around 822/1645/2004 @ 1000mV (core/shader/mem) - I had them at 950/1900/2004 @ 1050mV.
The card was stable at +30 for basically every game. BF3 eventually seemed to prefer +40, +50mV - I have basically had the 1050mV and 950 clocks for almost the entire time BF3 has been available.

Most recently, I tried as much as 1065mV, dropped it a bit to 940/1880/2004 - still unstable since the patch/DLC.

You can see why I'm a little befuddled here... I understand BF3 is insanely retarded about system stability to the point of hardware failure if you even look at the PC wrong, and I always overcompensated core voltage to ensure stability. It worked - until now.

They broke it - I have to sacrifice performance just so their buggy-ass shit doesn't overstress my hardware? That's the wrong solution IMHO - but, it definitely doesn't seem like something they will be correcting soon... hell, they probably will never fix this shit.
For those of us/you the game works for (I was among you, once :(), it's great (if you enjoy the gameplay) - but it seems like for some people the game has been broken since release, with no fix ever having worked.
I hope this isn't the case for me - I want my stable BF3 back.

I haven't had a chance to implement some of the "fixes" I mentioned or have been looking into - will be getting into that here in a little bit. But I'm not going the hardcore troubleshooting route (one fix, try the game, if needed one more fix, try again, rinse and repeat). I'll be applying a few of the "seemingly unrelated" fixes before going that route. NIC driver update, rollback GPU drivers to last WHQL, apply GPU BIOS update... see where that gets me when I have a chance to play later tonight. Gotta get my run in here in a bit then go out and grab some chow.

I would argue that they in fact dont since they lock up during BF3 :D

Let's be fair here - it is as of yet not determined to be GPU-related, but I admit it is possible.

And there ARE applications that are so buggy they bring down stable hardware configurations. ;)
Like BF3 :p

better try this site first
HTTP://WWW.DIGIPRINTING.NET/
I have bought cartridges here for a long time and they are top notch quality .By the way the prices are far better than anything listed
above this post

I am not going to argue that point either :)

I wish I had more insight. I've had a handfull of crashes. One was audio driver according to event viewer, one was gpu driver. Reinstalled ago drivers and updated audio driver......

Tapatalking on my pos thunderbolt. Sorry for teh typos!

CTD's are one thing - you get Event Viewer info to utilize.
Hardlocks are another - I'm seeing nothing worthwhile in Event Viewer. And no BSOD's to create minidumps to view in BlueScreenView.
Really quite annoying - I'm been scouring various forums, trying to find similar issues, any reported fixes, and a laundry list of possible things of try has been found. I've tried a few, ones that stick out from threads with a problem that sounds exactly like mine.

I just got through a round of driver updates (even got a new one for my keyboard! :p), and the latest BIOS update for my 560 Ti 2GB cards (both confirmed to be on that BIOS version now). I think I'm going to try stock clocks with a healthy overvolt - see where this all gets me. Well, after I downgrade GPU drivers, damn, forgot about those.
Here's to hoping I'm golden after all this bullshit. If I am, I'll slowly try raising GPU OCs to see what I can maintain.

I just want s mo BF3. Why so not cool DICE? :(
[oddly enough, that above sentence is vastly more legible and intelligible than basically all of the battlelog forum ]

My gtx 580 stock voltage was 1000 mV, I had to crank it up to about 1065 mV to make it stable for BF3. Try cranking it up to 1100 mV (still well within safe zone). Or alternatively try reducing your core clock speed.

Also note I was getting some crashing to desktop on my 680 with the 301 drivers but the new 304 beta drivers have been totally stable.

Metro was designed for 32 players for Rush. It's a well designed map - you are just doing it wrong. I don't join an 8 player Operation Firestorm conquest large server and complain that the map is too big and empty and thus is the worst map of all time.

It is a tad better as a Rush map........but not much. Even with only 32 players it still is just one chokepoint - spamfest after another. Against a good team of defenders the attackers will never reach the first set of MCOMS in the tunnels. If thats your cup o' tea then have it, to each their own.

Are you kidding? All metro is a series of massive chokepoints over and over and over again. Hell, BC2 supported even less players, but had 10x better Rush maps that at the very least allowed for different angles of attack because they were larger.

Metro was an obvious attempt to get at the COD crowd and the shittiness of the map shows. The entire map is based around about 6 chokepoints that turn into a meatgrinder that stays a meatgrinder for the entire game, or the attacking team just rushes through the map and wins.

Thats the mark of a terribly designed map

Very tempted by the $42 Battlefield Premium fron HD but I still have no idea what the last two DLC will be like.
