If the server crashed then all is lost. However if it was only you who crashed or lost connection then your points/ribbons/unlocks will be saved on the server and will be awarded in battlelog.

I think if you rejoin the same server during the same game they are lost. At least thats what it looks like in the battle reports. I always wait till the round ends, then I rejoin the same server, or just jump on a new one.

That may be true, Ive only went back to the server browser see if it was me or the server that crashed. Ive never tried to rejoin the same server.

Just thought people here would be amused that I finally helped my brother set up BF3 on his laptop (I got it for him a while back). The amazing part is that not only does the game run, but it runs well enough for my bro to have tons of fun with it. He has an HP DV6t laptop with a Sandy Bridge quad (http://ark.intel.com/products/52219/Intel-Core-i7-2630QM-Processor-(6M-Cache-2_00-GHz)), 8GB of ram, and an AMD HD5770M GPU, hooked to a 1080p external monitor. It's running on auto settings, which I assume is low, and I haven't had him run fraps/afterburner since he's not techically savvy. But we finished the whole co-op game in one day, and I got him going on multiplayer today.

Frankly, I think the key here is the Sandy Bridge CPU. That thing rocks, and it's just amazing they were able to cram that amount of power into a <6lb laptop. What a great investment that thing has been - he uses it mostly for work, but at $900 with a few extras, it was also a heck of a gaming bargain.

BTW, I was surprised at how many hoops we had to jump through to get it to install from the DVD. Darn it DICE, if the game weren't so good I'd get sick and tired of this stuff...for some reason we had to download Origin first - the DVD wouldn't run on its own. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

It was even odd using Amazon's download service. Ya know, if what you have on the disc/download folder isn't enough to install the game, then maybe its just not ready to ship eh?

I think its just the nature of the server browser. For one it doesnt show full servers. I just searched and saw maybe 50 servers in the 40+ range, and many others with low player counts.

For example, this was take just a few minutes ago:

And I could have kept scrolling down 2-3 pages before it went to single digits. But something is happening with the community. I have 15 servers in my favs list, and only 1 has 60+ players currently. One has 7, and the rest 1 or 0.

Me and my small Platoon are interested in renting our own sever but are short in funding.

Multiplay is having a 50% sale during Christmas if you buy 3 months or more of service. I know this might be a long shot, but if anyone is interesting in buying in, joining our platoon or any of that stuff. Let me know and I can get you in.

We have about 10 active players every day, play at night EST time zone. We have our own TeamSpeak3 server, so if you have a mic, that be awesome.

We're not too serious but we are not too wack. Always about teamwork and getting things done. We SOFLAM, MAV, etc. Pretty much we do EVERYTHING when we play together.

We don't care about KDR, W/L, blah blah blah. We are just in it to have fun!

Not sure if this is what you are interested in doing, and this may not even happen, so perhaps I shouldn't even post it. In about two weeks I'll know for certain.

Friends and I started a BF3 server. It's a 64 player conquest server, currently runs B2K maps 24/7, 500 tickets. We've been ranked as high as 8th worldwide for BF3 servers on Gametracker, then had RSP issues (multiplay) that are now resolved and the server is climbing up again, think we are 40th currently. The server is full 24/7 with 64 players and people in queue, we have a solid stable of regulars.

Anyways, I am thinking of not wanting to admin it anymore as it's a pain and starting to feel like an obligation to police the hackers. Not that I like hackers, but I get emails constantly from the notify admin plugin. Multiplay allows the transferring of ownership of a server, so I might be letting it go if I can find someone who'd like to keep it going. Nothing certain, but just seeing if you (or anyone else) would be interested.

I got in when there was a deal going, so it costs about $65 a month and includes a 60 or 65(don't remember which) slot Mumble server. I run the procon layer from my home because some plugins don't work with layer hosting. Namely, I use a plugin that tracks player's stats and lets them check their stats, rank, top 10 etc on the server, the players really like this one. Server also streams to pbbans and ggc-stream etc.

If I do let it go, I'd provide the person who took it with my procon folder so they could maintain the current setup or adjust it, as well as the MySQL database containing all the player's stats the stat plugin feeds in/out of.

The server has a pretty adult or childish environment depending on how you see it. The only things we kick/ban for are racist slurs, griefing your own team and hacking. So cursing, trash-talking etc. is pretty commonplace, if someone were to take the server, I'd like it to be someone who would continue to leave the server admined in a fairly light-handed manner.

Just putting this out there, and to see if you or anyone else might want it, might help me along to letting it go  Feel invested in it as it was a chore to get a server populated and keep it that way, now it just stays full which is nice. I don't want to just shut it down as I've started to notice at any given time I recognize what seems like at least half the names on the server.

Think i found the biggest no lifer in BF3 LOL.

Some guy on metro kept using his m320 on our team so i check his stats cause his rank looks unusual and he was rank 101 with 316 hours and 3,400 m320 kills....i was like wow i didn't know BF3 had such a high rank.

Comparison i put little over 500 hours into BC2 from november of 2010 till just yesterday when i retired the game...

Do you have anything in your system overclocked, even the slightest bit? I know lots of people say they have ROCK SOLID stable performance, but I never find this to be true. Are you on 11.12 drivers?

Fun game last night with everyone.. even though we got crushed!

Are you using onboard Realtek audio drivers? If so, make sure they are up to date. That is what was causing BSOD for me.

316 hours and only 3,400 M320 kills, honestly that's not a very high kill count at all for that many hours.
