ok got this MB and it no workie....I suspect the PSU..its a brand new PSU (Antec Sonata case).

using the p4 3.0c
2 (512meg) kingston value ram pc3200 cl3
and of course the asus p4p800-e deluxe
all brand new

I had this same problem with 2 other MBs /cpu/ram combos and even tried different psu's. Im beginning to think someone "upstairs" doesnt want me to build this computer.

FWIW---placing MB on cardboard with installed ram and cpu only (attached heatsink aswell).....no fans spin up but green led on MB does light up. yes the 4 pin connector is connected.

what the heck is the problem???

check your memory, and maybe the processor is bad ?

Wow, jesus christ, holy smokes. I just perused through this thread because I have this mobo and look at all the bad reviews and problems! What's going on? Well, a good thing is that I've never had to call ASUS tech support so maybe I had a good batch or something....

Ok, well in case anyone reads this, I would like to say that I have the regular p4p800 mobo (not deluxe). With the intel 865pe, 800 fsb, ddr 400, etc etc.

I have dual channel ram (kingston), 2 sata-raided .... well look at my sig and you can see my computer and everything is running GREAT. Absolutely perfect. I for one, give this mobo a thumbs up.

Yeah, this thread freaked me out a few weeks ago after I bought my motherboard and waited for it to be delivered. I saw all these problems and issues and thought I was in for trouble. Fortunately, it was bad information.

I have the regular P4P800(not deluxe) and it works absolutely great. I am using an Antec TruPower430 too so guys that say there is a problem with this mobo and the Antec P/S's were barking up the wrong tree.

I'm researching a computer system to build and have a question. I want to set-up a digital video editing computer with three seperate SATA HDD (non RAID configuration) to run individually on the P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard. Is it possible??

How many individual SATA HDD's can the P4P800-E Deluxe support at the same time: 1, 2, 3 or 4? I have the same question for the basic P4P800 motherboard.

I think it is 4 HDD's, but before I buy I would like to know.

Thanks

I am using an ASUS P4P800E-Deluxe motherboard...

I am planning to purchase 2 Seagate 200GB IDE drives so I can have my data backed up in RAID 1. Will I have any trouble creating a Linux/XP dual boot (with the 2 necessary partitions) with the use of RAID 1?

Also, I am considering purchasing 2 more of the same drives later for a 400GB total RAID 0+1 configuration. Will I be able to do this and still have my dual boot? Does the MOBO even support 4 IDE drives in RAID 0+1?

Finally, can I create the RAID 0+1 from RAID 1 without reformatting my drives? What if I start with RAID 0 and then change to RAID 0+1?

Thanks... I am new to RAID, but I have successfully set up the dual boot without RAID on my old computer (ASUS P2B).

Most of the issues are related to the IDE RAID. Also, the earlier versions of the board seem to have some Northbridge issues.

Recently, my asus probe has started beeping due to the 3.3V (I think it's the CPU voltage) falling below the threshold. My screen would start to flicker a bit and the whole system would freeze soon after that and I'd have to reboot. Is this a motherboard problem or a power supply problem?

Also, is there anyway to use to the microphone and the line-in when I'm using the 5.1 dolby surround system?

I'm fearing the worst..... I tried to update my bios using the Asus update utility. Every thing seem to go fine until I clicked on FLASH, it rebooted now all I get is "reboot ansd selectbproper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"
I can get into bios but it doesn't show my raid array ... HELP!!!!

Im having some trouble with my lan connection on my p4p800se mobo. I installed the marvel gigabit drivers that came with the board but i cant connect to a dhcp server to fetch an ip for my cable modem.
Im currently using the usb connection on the modem, so the modem and dhcp server work fine. But when i switch to the lan connection i get nothing. Any clues?

shabby,

did you reset the cable modem when switching ports, the modem holds the MAC of the device that was connected to it, you need to reset it so it will learn the new one. Other then that I guess I would update the nic driver (though mine worked out the shoot)

Good luck

Hello

First off I have to say that I did not completely read through this thread (way too long 😉 ). I'm sorry if I'm repeating a question already asked and answered.

And here is my question.

At the moment I have 2x 256mb DDR400 (KVR400X64C25/256 kingston) sticks in dual channel and I was thinking of buying 2x 512mb DDR400 (KVR400X64C3A/512 kingston)

The ones I have are CL2.5 and the ones I'm thinking of buying are CL3.

The manual says: " Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency. For optimum compatibility, it is recommended that you obtain memory modules from the same vendor."

Does anyone have any experience in this? Will the memory be imcompatible? What problems may arise?
Maybe I should sell the old ones?

Thanks in advance.

😕

I'm scratching my head over this one...

I can use my USB ports for several different devices (The Claw for gaming, memory pens, an APC UPS, etc), however I cannot get it to recognize my HP Photosmart 7350 printer. At all. No matter what I do.

I know it's not the printer or cable, as this printer/cable work fine on a USB port on my laptop computer.

Anyone have similar problems or any suggestions for how to remedy this issue? I also notice that USB 2.0 memory pens will only function at 1.1 speeds, could this be related?

Thanks!
