so i thought there was an official thread on adblock filters, but i haven't been able to find any.

i'm not looking for proximitron (or whatever that is, but maybe someone can educate me and try to convince me why, if at all, i should switch to that instead?)

i'm looking for a good list of adblock filters or a website that contains that helpful information. i haven't found anything at all thus far... so anything would help.

thanks guys :)

ok i feel stupid to persist with this thread, but my question is not about the usercontent.css file (which seems to help me zero)... it's about the actual downloadable extension and how to properly tweak it to continue blocking ads.

LOL, sorry, I had to laugh at that. Too often on here it seems people do not read the post or offer absolutely useless information that doesn't have anything to do with what you were asking in the first place....

Thanks for the link!

http://www.geocities.com/pierceive/adblock/

read the instructions, then install the latest filter set. it works wonders.
Personally, I just use wildcards and it blocks most everything.

Examples:
*/ads/*
*/ad/*
*.doubleclick.*
*/sponsers/*
etc.

It doesn't take very long to build up a list that blocks 99% of the ads out there.
