I'm really pleased with mine as well. I have just finished installing a Zalman ZM-NB47J on my NB chip. The board is now perfect. :heart:

All this system needs (for now) is a 6800GT.

Weird thing happening:

at 211x12 (2532Mhz) Prime 95 errors out (incorrect rounding) but does not hang, but these applications runs ok:
1. sandra burn-in (ran for 100x)
2. windows memory test extended (whole day)
3. mem test extended (whole day)
4. Dr Hardware benchmark
5. Super PI

But if FSB is at 200 Prime 95 runs ok??? what gives???
system specs:

Operating System Win2K server edition (will be changing to WinXP Pro in a while)
AXP M 2600+ 1.8v (actual voltage said to be lower)
NF7-S Rev. 2 latest bios from Abit

It needs more voltage to run at the higher FSB. Also, if you are nearing your FSB limit then the higher you overclock the cpu, the lower FSB you can run.

Thanks pelican, will try and bump the voltage up again.....I guess the chip is pretty good if I get this stable with prime 95. If not I will lower the speed, I hope I can get this to 2.5Ghz stable by tonight...

You're welcome. Yes, I think you have a good chip. Looks like you have good cooling so I'm sure you'll be okay with more voltage and will be able to get it stable. Good luck.

thanks, 1.9V works with prime95 now, been running for 6 hrs now with no errors. Seems like NF7-S bios is undervolting, hardware monitor says that the vcore is just 1.84-1.86v.
Hope it runs stable for 24 hrs. under prime95.

New Specs:
Operating System WinXP Pro SP1 (just changed it yesterday)
AXP M 2600+ 1.9v (actual voltage lower for NF7-S)

OCZ Performance 3200 512x2 @2.7v at 11-3-3-3 timing will try with 11-3-3-2.5 after prime95 torture test

I just ordered a NF7-S. Right now I have 2 sticks of 512mb kingston hyperx. I am going to sell the hyperx on ebay or in the forums here. What ram should I get for the new mobo. I want to get 2 512mb sticks, but I'm not sure what kind / speed I should get. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm using Mushkin Level 1. It works well. Overclockers EB is reported to work very well.

My new computer won't power on. The red LED at the bottom of the board lights up, but is very dim (not bright like it should be). Everything is plugged in correctly. Any ideas? Is the problem with the board or the power supply?

Make sure the Clear CMOS jumper is in the proper position. I believe it is supposed to be on pins 1 and 2 for normal operation and pins 2 and 3 to clear the CMOS. If the jumper is on pins 2 and 3 you will have the situation you are describing.

I just installed this motherboard. Everything is working fine, except for the sound. Is there something that I forgot to hook up on the inside?

On the inside, no. But you do have to enable onboard sound in the BIOS. I thought the default was enabled though. Do you have the speakers connected to the right port? If you're using the analog out, it's the light green jack.

I can't get the digital out to work, analog works fine.

I don't have my manual, I can't find it. I've got the toslink plugged into both the back of the receiver and the mobo. I used the SoundStorm utility to set it to digital out. And I've got nothing, nada. No sound coming from the speakers. I know the speakers work, I know the receiver works, I know the computer works, I know analog audio works. Things I don't know that work are the Toslink cable and the toslink ports on the receiver. I just bought the cable from Radio shack, yes I know its a horrible brand but it was only $10, so that may be me problem. Also I've never tried the optical in on the receiver, always used coax. Any ideas?

I own an NF7 v2.0 board on a system with Windows XP Pro SP1 installed. The device manager recognizes my case?s frontside USB ports, but is unable to find a driver for them. Does anyone know where can I find a driver for these USB ports or force Windows to recognize it?

The SPDIF output is always ON with my v1.2
I used to be able to turn it off with the earlier NVmixer, but it's always ON now, unless you select headphones for output. Seems they disabled the ON / OFF button on the main control panel.

Any digital IN will recognize it.
(Even if you use a optical to RCA converter)

What sort of cooling do you guys suggest for the chipsets?
How do you find the actual voltages?

Copper is always better for cooling.
I used a crystal orb before using my MicoCool NorthPole.
And it had the same results. So, you could use the crystal orb and save 30 dollars.
But, be sure to make sure the orb is lapped if it needs it.

Use a multimeter on the MB PS connector for actual PS readings.
Use a multimeter to check chipset voltages also.
There a 2 places to check for chipset readings.
Use google to find volt mods.Read this

Also the BIOS screen at startup says I have the CPU/RAM set at 212MHz, although in the actual BIOS it's set to 213, and in any program I use it puts my CPU at 2.55GHz (213x12). Why is this?

The FSB in the BIOS is a bit lower than what is reported by Winbond I believe. On my board, the reported FSB is over .5MHz faster than what I have selected. It's no biggie.
