Everyone is paid up. We can start to prepare for the season. The majority has voted for a set pre-draft order. It also has been determined the payouts will be $200/75/25.

I'll have my son pick out of a hat later and will post the draft order shortly thereafter.

Man, i'm last. Oh well i usually do good or win from that position. Let the fun begin :)

I'm not much better at 10th. Last season I had the 2nd pick. I was in the lead for a majority of the season. The last month I plummetted to 6 or 7th.

I was supposed to be home in time to draft live. Looks like AutoDraft did OK. More balanced than my lineup last year, where I had no hitting and no starting pitching.

I had the 12th pick. Not sure what i think of my team. Decided to try a different approach this year with my back to back picks. Shall see if it pans out or not.

My team sucks. I was so out of it with this stupid cold I could not keep up with how the draft was going; moved way too fast for my sluggish brain. :(

Oh well.

We're at the midway point so here are the 1st half standings.

Pretty good competition so far....would like to see some more trades though.

Guys, vetoing both of those trades is bullshit and you all know it. The veto is there so that it avoids collusion. Its not because you feel one team is getting a better end of the deal. This is clearly not the case as the trade addresses needs of both teams. My guess is the key player in the deal is Trout. Sure, he is having a great season so far but he is still a rookie. I am giving up my #2 pick in the draft in Hanley who is a multi-position player at 2 positions that are scarce. I'm dealing my best closer in Street who has given up like 2 runs all season. I am taking a risk on Tulo....who knows when the guy will be back. I'll see if me and RAMC can come up with something else but its pretty messed up to have 2 deals vetoed.

Since it takes a majority to veto a trade I am assuming that 6/10 of the non-trading teams killed the trade. I didn't veto, so that reduces the number to 6/9. I'm surprised that two trades were killed almost instantly. It happened so quickly I barely knew what was going on when it happened. Its a pretty tough accusation for half the league to accuse the commisioner of cheating!

I'm sure not everyone is going to admit to voting against the trade. It would take 6/9 votes against to have anything vetoed. Two managers haven't even logged into their teams in a week so that would make it that pretty much everyone voted it down. I'm going to guess that KeithTalent is the only guy not to vote against.

The other owner posted a message on the league board explaining his rationale.

I voted down on the first deal, didn't vote at all on the 2nd, but I'm pretty sure I already explained that. It looked great for you, but not a trade where the other guy looked like he was trading to win. It looked like he was either asleep at the wheel and clicked yes or was just trading away his good players to mail it in. There doesn't need to be any collusion for those kinds of trades to damage the league. Nobody would like it if I took some part timer for Miguel Cabrera because I stopped giving a shit, for instance. People should vote that down in the interest of league integrity.

That's the first time I've weighed in on any trade. It looked that bad to me. If I'm wrong about that, so be it, that's why it takes a majority. I'm not trying to stonewall anyone from improving their team, but when the trade looks like that, it's hard to see it as legitimate.
