Trump - initiating "government policy against Amazon" and seeking an additional $100B in tariffs to punish China's response to our tariffs.

Then he walked away. Dow futures off 400. MU down to $47.29 AH.

The worst part it might not mean noting tomorrow.

Trumps sees that the market has stopped crashing.
ups the ante.

I predict if this doesn't work to get to Dow 19.9k, Trump will send an aircraft carrier to China's illegal man made island in the South Seas.

Trump to Navy Admiral: Put an American flag on that Island.
Excuse: We need a place to put all these illegals.

Hopefully the market wont over react again. Violent one day moves up or down are starting to wear thin.

I bet half his cabinet has short positions on SPY index. Trump probably doesn't even know about it, they just tell him to do stupid shit to tank the markets and he does it. What else explains this BS?

^definitely something weird is afoot. POTUS dumbassery isn't supposed to be this influential, but it is.

I think that despite all plain evidence, we somehow underestimated the potential dumbassery from this historically idiotic president. But here we are.

Who you calling 'we'? I sure didn't. Only thing that surprised me is how long its taken for it to happen. I was very conservative the last 2 years because I kept waiting of the other foot to drop. Too bad I timed it so so wrong.

Continually being obtuse does not make you credible in the worlds eye. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be at least somewhat measured in your statements. Yes being blunt is effective sometimes but doing it over and over loses its impact. Otherwise you become Duarte of the Philippines. He says so many stupid things he is basically ignored.

I am certain he would not threaten a country with nukes over something trivial like trade. That would be an unfair threat that would lead the other party to call his bluff, which he could not carry out (kill millions for no defensible reason).

Such a stupid proposal and standoff could also lead to impeachment proceedings.

Ah, I'm not convinced that you wouldn't find some reason to still defend him in that eventuality.

MU down to 47 pre market. Will it get to 45 today? Lol

We close green today by the way. Trump antics are fun for a morning dip but jobs reports should outweigh any "trade threat wars"

Welp, I've got my stash of MU now.

Now its time to put up or shut up. Covered calls should go for a good price but I'm not sure I'm going that route for now. I think I'm holding for a few weeks (at least). I know guys who are market experts still very bullish on MU. I'm feeling ok about it.

Better than if I had bought at 60, anyway. 8000 shares cost basis 53, 4000 shares cost basis 49. I don't feel like doing the math lol.

Edit - Actually that's pretty easy, isn't it - 52 cb overall. Or am I wrong? I'm no math whiz.

Newbie to actual stock trading since I'm used to Index funds....

Bought Tesla when their stock dumped to $250 on the news of low production. So far it's already up to $300. Not a big fan since I find them overvalued, but it seemed worthy of buying

Also bought HPE, JPC, ZNGA on hopes of making some progress in the next year.

Also bought CMG (Chipotle), I find them undervalued thanks to all the negative press.

We will see... As someone that works in tax, I value the advantages of long term, so I am hoping to hold on to all of these for at least a year.

Next week is finally earnings week. Should get us moving in the right direction. When there is no earnings growth to report, investors get scared by the slightest breeze.

Looking to buy VIAB. I think they get a higher buyout offer from CBS.
