Hilarious how a 73-9 team thinks it needs another max player to compete. Pathetic that Durant thinks he needs to go there to win.
GSW needed a shakeup. The guys they are dropping (Bogut, Barnes, Ezeli), were disappointments in the finals bigtime.

Durant, though thriving at OKC hadn't won a championship and the clock is ticking. He was on point when he said that he needed to get out of his comfort zone and take it somewhere else. GSW was his best bet. They have a great culture, as does the Bay Area.

The biggest thing from what I heard was him leaving because he didn't like playing with Westbrook because he's a ball hog. Durant would get infinitely easier open shots at GSW. Plus obviously they are closer to a championship than Thunder were.

Losing Barnes was a blessing for them. LOL at the Mavs for giving him $94 million dollars! The most expensive wide open bricks in league history come next season.
He'll improve. He only developed his 3 recently. He was overshadowed at GS, he'll do a lot better with the Mavs, you'll see. He's young.

No one's a ball hog at GS, it's a culture where it's all for one and one for all, relatively speaking in the NBA. That's one reason why I think that their obvious dilemna now in assembling the rest of the roster beyond the 4 all stars isn't going to be as difficult as one might think. The culture should spawn depth one way or another.
They cant keep Ezeli, f that bum. lol

Anyways, this is going to be a crazy season. I may need to get cable.
I'm thinking the same things!

From this ESPN article, it seems that he bonded with Curry and Iguodala when they played together earlier.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/16790897/durant-warriors-had-2010-world-championship-roots

"Steph and I played together in 2010 in Turkey, and after practice we would come back to the gym at night when we were overseas and just [get] some shots up. I believe it was Kevin Durant [who] was with us, a lot of the time. So it was us three, maybe one or two other guys, but us three were always together. Kinda got a chance to see him work. Knew how in love he was with the game, so we built a pretty good relationship. We had chapels together before every game so we definitely got to know each other.

Given that the NBA's salary cap prevents superstars from getting paid what they're worth, why wouldn't you give up a few million to play with people that you like and respect?

I was just thinking I wonder if they could get David West since he was willing to sign for the minimum with the Spurs last season.
< sarcasm>
The ultimate bandwagoner, shouldn't Twitter be up in arms over this?

lol the espn article on Durant.

They didn't have anywhere to stay, and with the Fourth of July weekend a hectic time in the Hamptons, lodging was hard to come by. So the Thunder holed up at a Holiday Inn Express, located one mile away from Durant's compound, and waited.

There were only six rooms available for nine people, so they shared. Clay Bennett, a multimillion-dollar owner, in a Holiday Inn Express, sharing a bed. Nothing was open, so they settled on a T.G.I. Friday's for a late dinner.

And then they waited for the inevitable.

With one finals outburst and one free agent signing, the GS Warriors have quickly turned into the NBA villains. Damn, that was faster than a heel turn in WWE.

Nuggets offer Dwayne Wade 2 years $50 million, NOT because he is worth that but because the Nuggets are waaaaayyy under the Salary floor and need to meet the minimum payroll

durant + curry + thompson + green = too many cooks
Yep, not enough shots. If they knew they could keep Durant, they'd be better off trading thompson for a center who can post up and protect the rim. Not that any come to mind at this point. Posting up seems to be a lost art among centers.

Lol.

Teams don't have to meet the salary floor. If they don't, the difference gets paid out and split among the team's current roster.

LOL at ring chaser David West. Joining the spurs last year was one thing, but jumping ship to GSW from an existing contender in SA seems kinda shameful. I guess the dude just wants that championship on his resume no matter what.
