Anyone have any insight on Stratasyss SSYS the 3D printing company. They are down 30% today and I'm thinking about taking a gamble on a technology that will be very prevalent and probably change manufacturing and in a few years.

I've never heard about this company but its valuation appears to be based on growth, which is getting lighter.

Buy dips in good companies, but this one I dont know. Looks tempting to me, but I think I would wait. Might get a bounce or might keep going down to $48 or less. Yahoo finance says book value is $51, but lightening growth for a 'growth' stock is bad news. Who knows.

A lot of it short covering, others think we might have seen a bottom in oil and are buying discounted names and sectors like solar & other alt energy.

Why are you interested in it? Momentum? I dont see what the appeal is.

It has gone up from 3.50 to 4.42. I was hearing that it had patents that it could use now and it was issued patents.

That news looks priced in. If you still like it, buy a little and hold it. Earnings will be in 9 more days.

Between Scottrade and Trade King for semi-daily trading, which do you guys recommend? I see Trade King has $4.95 trades compared to $7.95 for Scottrade, not sure if there is anything about ST that makes it worth the price difference?

How safe is Trade King? For 7.95 you might as well go with a bigger name like Fidelity, or at least I think it's a much bigger company.

Every solar or alt energy stock like tsla has gone up so much today. Why?

This will provide insight for the reason.

Come on dead cat bounce, short covering, super volatility oil... It's just about at the level where I can happily write off my losses -- my money's on it heading right back down in the next few weeks. CAD$ is up.

Meanwhile, Wrigley's is closing a gum factory in Toronto:

Moving to Georgia, which has been the pattern lately (back to the US). There goes another ~380 jobs on top of the 17k lost at Target and whatever the number is in the oil sands.

Sold half my position in COS... Big loss, but if it goes back down and I buy back in, and it goes back up, I'll break even a lot lower. Nice 75% rally in just under a week though, but it could have went the other way just as easily -- fell over 60% over the past few months.

Oil and CAD$ dumping again. Not surprised. You fall this much, you can rise a ton and lose it all again within weeks.

I'd be careful with that. I sold my CSIQ for a nice $5 pop yesterday, and rolled in my profits to double down this morning.

Any thoughts on where Alibaba is heading? I could have sold my position on it yesterday and broke even(bought fairly early on).. but it would have been nice to do that instead when it was $119 a share a few months ago. At the same time I'm very tempted to buy the dip here and see where it goes in the next few months.

Sold all of the AMKR calls and 1/2 of the stock into this earnings pop. ~170% for calls and ~20% for the stock.

Oil... It's running +/- $3 of $50 for the past week or two.

I've practically gone all-in on USD now. Betting on a full scale meltdown in Canada. Last month's job numbers said something about adding 40k "self-employed" jobs nationwide, and Alberta, the oil sands province, somehow added jobs. This info from the gubment agency that turned -200 jobs into +42000 jobs in July 2014, and +180k jobs in all of 2014 into +120k jobs .

Sold the remaining Amkor shares into the close.

I added little couple days ago. But I'm not too hot on how the stock is behaving. It's not participating on days the market is up big. That's always a red flag in a stock like this. And judging by how the stock reacted before the last earnings, plenty of people got tipped off. It was just way too weak and didn't participate in big up days leading up to the earnings.
