I guess we'll see what the Pats defense can do to slow down a really good offense. With Wilfork gone and Butler as the best DB they have Brady needs to keep the ball out of Ben's hands as much as possible.

Steelers are without Bell for two weeks. I don't see how they can win without him against a pissed off Brady.

I'm going to disagree with you on:

Chiefs @ Texans - Houston's pretty good.

I love that Texan defense with Watt, Wilfork and Clowny although Clowny will have limited minutes. But where are the points going to come from on offense? Foster is injured and Johnson was traded and Hoyer at QB with one of the worst QB ratings from last year? Ugh.

They also don't have Bryant. While he can be very hot/cold he has huge upside and opens up the field a bit for brown...or catches it when brown is covered.

Wheaton might be the better receiver of the two anyway.

Y'know, I considered picking the Niners for that game, but with AP back and Teddy B playing really well last season, I don't see you guys winning.

I could be wrong, but you all lost way too much on defense and coaching.

Seems like it will be a good game, though.

Defensively I think we'll be fine. Sure, we lost a lot of players, but we got a few back and last year wasn't a great year for J.Smith, Aldon or Willis. Question marks are the secondary and our turnstile of an offensive line will be our downfall this year.

I also don't believe in Teddy nor do I understand the insane hype the Vikings have this year.

He had a 103 QB rating in his last five games, now has AD back, an improved receiving corps, and a healthy (?) Kyle Rudolph. Their biggest problem is a tough schedule (@SEA, DET, SD, @DEN, KC, STL, etc.) with the biggest favorable matchup being vs. the atrocious ATL defense in week 12.

And then you have the Colts who yet again magically get a whole bunch of cupcakes to play this year.

The Viking game is one of the few I feel the 49ers have a very good chance of winning. I'm only worried at DB for our D, our O... well that's is going to be a shit show. Mainly for passing.

I think glenn1 said it best -- they were playing fairly well and they've gotten better, the Niners have gotten worse, and to be honest, Kaep is decent, borderline mediocre.

That doesn't mean the Niners WILL be worse than last year, but on paper it sure looks like they will.

The hype for the Vikings is more as a sleeper team I think. Teddy has been very good for his experience. More TD's than picks last year, fairly high completion % and solid qb rating. Improved receivers, Mike Wallace, and he likes his tight ends plus AP back should open the pass a bit more. That's what the excitement is about. AP has never really had a potential passer like teddy.

It'll come down to plays and how they execute. Should be a good year.

Hardly a sleeper pick when nearly every sports writer has them getting a wild card spot. :) I haven't followed the Vikings closely so I really had no clue. Looks like the main concern is the offensive line (which team besides the Cowboys has a solid oline anyways?) but otherwise signs pointing up.

Can't wait for the season to start.

The Eagles have a good O Line, if it can stay healthy (which, has been a problem in the past). As far as the Vikings making the Wild Card, that is laughable. We expect the Vikings to beat out Cowboys / Eagles / maybe Giants and Lions / Cardinals / Panthers / Saints? They will have to win 10+ games in order for that. And it isn't happening.

MON SEPT 14
Eagles @ Falcons - 7:10 ESPN
Vikings @ Niners - 10:20 ESPN

I'm freaking tired of Bowz/Giants games on Primetime.

No matter how bad those teams are, they get the SNF every year.

Ratings. Dallas always gets good ratings.

The 2008 Detroit Lions went 4-0 in the preseason before going 0-16 in the regular season.

Yeah, they blew their load early, rolled over, then fell asleep. It was like a train wreck. You can't believe it's gonna happen, but you can't look away either.

Eagles O-line is decent, but has zero depth. Jason Peters is still good but aging and that's a scary thing. The guards are unknowns. Lane Johnson is very good. Jason Kelcey is good and extremely athletic, but a bit undersized. It's not just the QB, but the O-line is potentially one injury away from being a total mess. People up here are praying for the Pope to bless the Eagles O-line and also Bradford's knees.

Vikings are kind of a sleeper team in that they are not as bad as most people think they are but I agree it's a tough sell to say they are going to beat some of the second tier teams in the NFC.

Are we going to run weekly ATOT FanDuel daily fantasy leagues again this year? Who was managing that last year?

too soon to say you're worried about the pat D?

Yea, way too soon but the O-line is starting THREE rookies and yes, I'm worried. the Pats struggled last year until they got a solid O-line up and going. Having 3 rookies as starters is a bad situation IMO.

Brady looked rusty in that possession, if he was accurate to Amendola that goes for a TD.

Wow, can't fathom any defense leaving Gronk completely uncovered, almost like a freebie for the Pats.

It isn't like Gronk is inconspicuous either... The only guy I don't want scoring TDs is left wide open. Thanks Shittsburg!

Yeah, first game back. Has to shake off the nerves.. But he also misses those plays once in a while (the one to Edelman or Amendola during the Broncos game couple years back).

they're getting nothing on the ground, but the dink and dunk pass is going unchecked.
