Santa brought a Sphero 2.0 for me & the little dude:

It's basically a remote-controlled ball (via smartphone over Bluetooth), which is awesome in & of itself, but there's also a ton of games:

There's also an off-road cover available: (yellow, blue, and orange)

It also comes with a pair of ramps for doing some sweet jumps. /napoloean
Some cool features:
1. Uses inductive charging - just drop it on the dock to charge
2. Waterproof (sealed) so you can use it in a pool or tub
3. Multi-colored LED lights built-in (like a Philips Hue bulb - you can change the color, do color fades, or make it strobe)
4. Control via iPhone or Android - works off touchscreen input or tilt sensor
5. Lots of fun games
6. It's a freaking remote-controlled ball! It's awesome!
It's roughly the size of a baseball - fairly small. Rolls around via an internal gyro. The default Sphero app has a touch-or-tilt R/C interface, some basic pre-programmed commands, and a speed setting. There's a handful of other apps, some free and some pay-for. Here's some interesting ones:
Sphero ColorGrab: It flashes different colors and you have to pick it up when it flashes your color. Sort of a timing game like Spoons or a little bit like Simon.
Nyan Cat - Space Party! This uses the Sphero as a 360-degree motion controller, sort of like the tilt sensor in the phone, but better.
Sphero Draw N' Drive: Draw a picture on the screen and the Sphero ball will follow the track! Pretty fun idea if you like doing long exposures too:

The Rolling Dead: Crazy augmented reality game where you use the Sphero to run over zombies. Awesome.
Pass the Sphero: Sort of like hot potato.
Sphero Macrolab: Kind of an intro-to-programming game. Sort of a combination of DMX & BASIC/LOGO.
Pricing:
Sphero 2.0: $130 (ball, inductive charger, 2 ramps)
Nubby Cover: $15
Games: Free or $1
Fairly expensive for a toy, but on-par for any other nice high-quality R/C car. Plus, it doubles as a game controller, which is a pretty neat application for it. And if you have a cat or dog (or small child) it's a pretty hilarious device.
