31k OCZ @ 4.7 cost basis - unfortunately sold covered calls against it at rather discounted prices.. won't be making nearly as much as I should.. Oh well. I think the worst was AMZN.. What a piece of shit. Lost huge shorting it.. was lucky enough to partially cover for the brief moment of rationality in AH when it was 204. I understand the buy case behind it.. but damn.. thats one steep valuation. 7mil on ~10bil sales? Yikes

Not sure if serious...

I have been trading a number of stocks purely on technical indicators and have been seeing success so far. This is for *short term* day/week swing trades, not for *investments*.

Examples of stocks I have been trading lately:
FIO, LSCC, ATML, STEC, INTC.

The drop may be due to boredom and saturation. The company does not have many followers since they are just breaking out of a niche market, they are not widely known. All the interested people may have purchased, leaving no one left interested to buy. Or, it might not have been a true rumor as Aharami mentioned.

I feel bad that I missed Seagate and Western Digital. I have been considering them these last few months but thought their profit was already played out after the floods through their manufacturing centers, which still makes no sense to me. They somehow turned the loss of their manufacturing facilities into a profit. Damn.
Western Digital prints cash for their shareholders.
I wouldn't buy it at these prices, but I also wouldn't sell my shares.
I've owned the company for almost a year now but limited myself from commenting on OCZ/Seagate topic as much as possible due to my obvious bias.

3 years ago, I couldn't touch Seagate with a 10ft pole.
Their CEO was the "Bush" of Seagate and they were a patent troll company.
Mother nature was what saved them.

Mostly 6-8. Small amount of Aug 5$ strikes. Trying to get options 'upgrade' okayed quickly so I can write naked puts. There is still quite a bit of put volume and possibly short positions going all in - shits going to hit the fan tomorrow after the STX call - which I also own @ 23. I'm indifferent to the outcome. Obviously, if the sale does not go through, I will be better off.

The rejection of a 700mil offer does not make sense when the 3 amigos (CFO,CEO,director - who always sell in unison) sold shares at 7ish around early April. Who knows.

Seagate pays generous dividend (if you bought at lower price). Like I said, I have it at 23.18 and would buy more near or below that price. In the mean time, I'll just rely on DRIP to add to the position and harvest a little cash by selling far outdated calls.

What does the band Bush have to do with Seagate?

Last week, a window opened where the price dropped for a few minutes. This happened strongly on one day and weekly on a few other days. If we pay attention, we may see such a buy window open again.

The price may drop down to $6.80 or possibly even as low as $6.50, for at least a few minutes while the institutions purchase more.

if BO is true, this would be the easiest trade I've ever seen, and easy trades don't come along that often.

This article states the acquisition has been finalized, yet the OCZ stock price remains unaffected by the recent news.

OCZ Technology ACQUIRED By Seagate and 3 Hot Stocks Demanding Investor Attention
By Deann Marin
July 30, 2012

OCZ Technology Group Inc. (NASDAQ:OCZ): After Bright Side of News reported that Seagate (NASDAQ:STX) has finalized a deal to buy the company, shares of OCZ Technology Group Inc. (NASDAQ:OCZ) are up 18% to $8.36 in pre-market trading, extending Friday’s gains. Shares of OCZ Technology are trading at 1.38% higher today.

The current stock price of $7.15 shows a valuation less than $500Million, much less than the previous $700Million offer and the $1Billion goal.

And the price is dropping ...
Why? Is this not what we were waiting for?
I am confused.

Now 3/4 cash... Still holding 1/4 in a losing positiong:(. It'll go back up eventually, but at least now I can afford to sell it at a loss any time a feel like.

The article cites Bright Side of the News as claiming it is a done deal.

Problem is the article on BSOTN acts likes it a done deal then goes on to say: "As always, this could end up being a rumor and our multiple sources could end up being wrong. However, where there's smoke, there's fire."

Not exactly 100%, but close. I guess you will just have to wait till Seagate denies or confirms.

Yeah, I just purchased 2000 shares at $6.60 ...
at 1:19 Eastern time.
The price continues to move.

And $28 is far too much.
