Bought a couple hundred INTC @ $24.98. No reason this company should trade at 10.5x forward earnings, IMO. This company's got one of the most solid management teams in the semiconductor business, has been reducing share count consistently, and increasing dividend.

This one's a keeper.

Think about it how much growth can Intel provide? powerfull multicore cpus that put multimillion dollar crays of just a decade ago to shame sit idle doing nothing in millions of desktops used for basic level work. Poor CPUs are starved of work

You are not going to see anywhere near the same growth as during the 80s and 90s. CPUs have become a commodity and yet expensive to design and fab out. And upgrade cycles will stretch for longer period of times. Back in those days margins were fat and sales kept growing. The Intel cow has already been milked.

If your looking for growth, your better off buying IWM ETF. at least you are diversified amongst the RUS and less risk than owning a single stock.

yea, I see INTC as a blue chip stock. I expect them to stay within about 10% of their price while providing a steady dividend.

And the cycle continues... down we go. Couple more percent drop and I go back in, unless earnings after closing for SU is amazing, and it pops, then I'm covered too:).

Not a great day for AAPL stock holders like me. I think the market tends to overreact though. Maybe time to add more shares.

I can't wait for all of the "Apple can't even meet earnings: Are we headed for a recession?" headlines tomorrow.

It had to happen sometime. Their earnings are insane.

USG - just picked some up.

$16.73
-$2.52
(-13.09%)

What do you see in USG right now? Why do you think the stock price will rise?

  • Price/Sales = 0.65 is good
  • Price/Book = 13.23 is high
  • Earnings/Share = (- $3.00) is bad
  • PEG Ratio = (- 9.9) shows negative earnings and no growth
  • No dividends

You selected well with this stock a few months ago and rode this to a substantial gain but I wonder if you now have an irrational emotional attachment.

Netflix is dropping today due to losing subscribers. A few months ago we were talking and a few of us thought the stock could drop below $60. I mentioned $45 and am interested to see if it will really drop that far. Although it would still be too high priced for me.

Still waiting to see what happens with OCZ, whether it will rise or fall.

Still watching AMD and waiting to see if it drops to $3.50.

Am considering Vina Concha y Toro S.A., VCO, as a safe position for dividends. I would prefer a price below $37.

Caterpillar jumped today based on solid second quarter results but the factors that have brought the stock price down these last few months seem to be stronger than their recent increased sales.

chusteczka, some stocks are just good for trading. The fundamentals for these companies really, really don't matter.

USG EPS Consensus:

.27 for FY 2013
.85 for FY 2014

Long Term Growth Rates 3%.

2.33 in cash flow/share in 2014; however only one estimate.

Regarding USG, positive future growth predictions imply that a 13% drop will recover with a worthwhile rebound. (Thank you, Intel17 and The-Noid.)

That may be true. For my purposes, the stock is overpriced according to the current fundamentals but then my frugal/cheap caution often misses opportunities.

I do not know how to value a company when overpriced and especially when their fundamentals are in disarray. (Unless I see the company investing for growth.)

With USG, look at normalized free cash flows

Also, there is shareholder dilution coming due to convertable debt.

Also, berkshire will eventually buy out the company.

MotelyFool and Seek Alpha both suck...everyone has some agenda there. Nothing will take the place of your own DD and READING THE BALANCE SHEET!

Apple Stock Is Dead; Sell It on a Bounce - http://www.thestreet.com/story/1163...e.html?puc=_ttt_txt_pla1&cm_ven=EMAIL_ttt_txt

Apparently Apple stock is in fact dead according to one write.

However it's important to note that Apple did post a 23 percent jump in revenue from the same quarter the previous year to $35 billion, but that was about $2 billion below Wall Street's average forecast. 23% increase from previous quarter and the sky is falling??
