RG3 named offensive player of the week for week 11 http://www.redskins.com/news-and-ev...FL-First/56fa2035-3395-46e6-9b27-2915716c164b

The National Football League announced today that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 11.
He is the first rookie quarterback to win two Player of the Week awards in a season since the league began awarding them in 1984.
Griffin III also became the first Redskins rookie at any position to win two Player of the Week awards in a season. His first Player of the Week honor came following his performance during the Redskins’ Week 1 victory against the New Orleans Saints.
In the Redskins’ 31-6 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11, Griffin III completed 14-of-15 passes (93.3 percent) for 200 yards with four touchdowns, finishing the game with a perfect 158.3 passer rating.
He also contributed 84 rushing yards on 12 carries, becoming the first rookie in NFL history to pass for 200 yards, pass for four touchdowns and rush for more than 75 yards in a single game.
Griffin III’s 93.3 completion percentage was the highest by a quarterback with at least four touchdown passes since Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Young on Oct. 16, 1994.
Griffin III now has 2,193 passing yards and 613 rushing yards this season, making him only the third rookie in NFL history to surpass both 2,000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards in a season.
The last beloved patriot to win Offensive Player of the Week twice in one season was Santana Moss in 2005, following Weeks 2 and 16.
The last Redskins quarterback to win Offensive Player of the Week twice in one season was Brad Johnson in 1999,following during Weeks 2 and 4.

Von Miller was named AFC Defensive player of the week.

Manning has won the offensive player of the week 3 times this year

The Detroit game scares me. I have this feeling that Megatron is going to have a huge week this week against my Texans.

Exactly. Homo is unbeatable at home in the month of November, never lost

my initial comment was a reference to how these type of statements are inherently meaningless, and only fools use them as accepted truth, much less a rational for wagering

http://xkcd.com/1122/

speaking of which, no one can now, ever again, use this turd of a statement: "If the Redskins win their homegame prior to a presidential election, the incumbent will win. If not, the challenger will win."

:hmm:

You know, I think it's beliefs like this that formed the foundation of Karl Rove's hilariously obvious delusions over the previous 2 months. :D

Defensive Player of the Year?

1. JJ Watt
2. Von Miller
3. Charles Tillman
4. Aldon Smith

Aldon Smith has been good, but he's only been beast for one game so far. Let's not rush him to Glen Rice status quite yet. ;)

In fact, after last year, his year so far has been "mildly" disappointing (unless you consider the fact that he took a knife to the side at his own house party, just prior to the season opening. :D)

I think it is Watt's to lose at this point.

Smith has been a beast his whole career thus far. And including this season, especially considering he doesn't rotate out of games which is pretty unheard of for pass rushers.

He's a tackle machine, which is great, but he doesn't consistently put up all the other numbers like Watt and Miller. I know I railed against sacks as a useless stat--and they are--but since they are used for these value judgments, 1/3 of his season total, so far, has come in one game.

Now, all that being said, raw numbers like this fail to take into account "disruption." Studs like that forcing double teams and leaving openings for other guys, flushing the QB or blocking his line of sight, all these little things that are important, yet very hard to judge and compare easily.

I can't believe people are picking the Jets over the Patriots.
Even when Sanchez is having a good day the Jets suck.
Jets defense can't compete with Patriots offense.
I predict a major ass whipping by the Patriots.

Any football team with a decent pass rusher will have a lot of sacks against the Bears offensive linemen.

Impressive openning drive by Detriot

Detriot got screwed on that replay call on the punt. The ball hit the Hou player's left knee and it should be Det ball.

Wow, that's the oddest sounding rule. Very strange.

If you're a coach, why wouldn't you challenge your own game-winning TD in the final minute to prevent a review?

Loophole? :hmm:

even with the blown call the lions have no one but themselves to blame if they lose this game

Denver is starting to worry me, the Defense has settled in from the earlier part of the season, Manning isn't having to play comeback ball anymore, they could make some noise in the playoff's...

Seems like the majority think Dallas will beat Washington. If they do the Redskins should start evaluating players for next season cause this one would be done.
