Not sure my Spurs will make it all the way this year, let alone make it through the first round. My main objective is to not get banned, lmao.

Lakers getting knocked out first round provided the Spurs aren't hobbled by more injuries.

Nuggets I see being the most underrated/dangerous team in the west.

Memphis taking out Clippers, Gasol and Randolph can decimate them inside.

Even though the Bulls don't have a consistent scoring threat like Rose, their defense is still very solid and could at least go into the next round.

Knicks, I just don't see them getting into the east finals. Melo is going to try to do too much to try and save games and going to cost them some.

I predict that you will get your panties in a bunch when anyone says anything negative about the Spurs.

And, it starts. Maybe you should read my prediction post before you bait me, no? I'll go ahead and report you now to get it out of the way, not that the mods here will do anything - they seemingly don't care about baiting despite it being against the rules.

You get one warning. That's all.

Western Conference:
1) OKC Thunder vs. 8) Houston Rockets
This is such an intriguing matchup with Harden playing his old team. However, unless he goes for 40+ every game, OKC will roll. It will be painful for the Rockets. OKC in 5.

2) SA Spurs vs. 7) LA Lakers
While I'm a Spurs fan, this matchup worries me. The Lakers match up pretty well to the Spurs. The way I see it - I think the Lakers will kill the Spurs inside with Gasol and Howard. However, the Lakers are horrible at defending the perimeter so I'm expecting the Spurs to light them up from the outside. Both teams are horrible at transition defense so I expect a lot of half court action and low scores. I think it will be much closer than people expect though. SA in 7

3) Denver Nuggets vs. 6) GS Warriors
While the Nuggets appear to be a more of a complete team, who knows what can happen when these high powered offenses meet. Steph Curry is on absolute fire right now. I'm gonna go on a limb and say GS in 7 hehehehehe

4) LA Clippers vs. 5) Memphis Grizzlies
I don't trust Vinny Del Negro and the Clippers. They tend to cave in big moments. Clipp have won 3 out of 4 vs Memphis this year. But I still dont like them.. I fully expect Blake and DeAndre Jordan to disappear in this series. Grizz in 6

Eastern Conference:
1) Miami Heat vs. 8) Milwaukee Bucks
DUH

2) NY Knicks vs. 7) Boston Celtics
The only way the Celtics have a shot at this series is if the refs let the Celtics play physical. I say Knicks in 5.

3) Indiana Pacers vs. 6) Atlanta Hawks
I won't be watching this one

4) Brooklyn Nets vs. 5) Chicago Bulls
I don't care about these two teams

Good initial drama on the Harden story line, but OKC has way too much firepower. OKC in 5.
2) SA Spurs vs. 7) LA Lakers
For all the talk of how good a matchup this is for the Lakers... yeah, I'm not seeing it. SA is better coached, and even with a limited Ginobili, they have a great young supporting cast who absolutely outclass the Lakers bench. SA in 5.
3) Denver Nuggets vs. 6) GS Warriors
I hope this one goes 7 games. Two young, fast, high scoring teams? Sign me up. I don't see GS winning in Denver though, so the Nuggets take the series.
4) LA Clippers vs. 5) Memphis Grizzlies
Another fun matchup with the battle of the bigs; Jordan and Griffin or Gasol and Randolph? My head tells me that Memphis will take this in 6, but my gut tells me Clippers in 7. I think I'll go with my head on this one.

Eastern Conference:
1) Miami Heat vs. 8) Milwaukee Bucks
Miami could start Spoelstra and win this in 5.
2) NY Knicks vs. 7) Boston Celtics
Boston is too old and feeble to keep up with this surging Knicks team. Prediction? JR Smith does at least three things every game that make your jaw hit the floor (and not necessarily in a good way). Knicks in 6.
3) Indiana Pacers vs. 6) Atlanta Hawks
Pacers should take this with ease, but they've looked mighty pedestrian in the past couple weeks. Then again, so has Atlanta. Indy in 5.
4) Brooklyn Nets vs. 5) Chicago Bulls
This matchup will be stronger than valium-laced roofies. Prediction? Does anyone actually give a shit about these teams? Ummm... Chicago in 6.

Carmelo Anthony is playing like a man possessed. I've been a Melo detractor for years, but when his shot is on, he's pretty damn fun to watch.

OBSERVATION:

Anybody else notice the broadcast looks funny? It's not a soap opera effect, it's like reverse soap opera effect. It looks as though they're broadcasting in like a half dozen frames per second.

Anybody?

:confuzzled:

JR Smith just threw down his first jaw-dropper. Two left. I'm thinking the next one will be a half court shot with 19 seconds left on the shot clock for no apparent reason.

Western Conference:
1) OKC Thunder vs. 8) Houston Rockets
Thunder easily. Hopefully Harden has a an amazing game and Westbrook craps his pants in another game and it goes six. This will be a high scoring series and fun to watch. Sadly five games looks like our run.

2) SA Spurs vs. 7) LA Lakers
This will be a long series. The Spurs are beat up and the Lakers will get all the calls. Spurs will prevail though.

3) Denver Nuggets vs. 6) GS Warriors
This is the most exciting series, though it is a shame injuries will dampen it just a little. You won't be able to keep me away from these games for anything. The Nuggets should win, but the Warriors have a chance if Curry comes out on fire.

4) LA Clippers vs. 5) Memphis Grizzlies
This will be another tight series but I don't think the Grizzlies give it away like they did last year.

Eastern Conference:
1) Miami Heat vs. 8) Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks have a small chance of pushing this to five.

2) NY Knicks vs. 7) Boston Celtics
The C's can still be crappy and make this into a long series but the Knicks are a far superior team. They actually play defense, they have one of the best scorers in the game and have a good bench. I don't trust them on the road though, so it either goes five or seven. They aren't winning game six in Boston.

3) Indiana Pacers vs. 6) Atlanta Hawks
Pacers but who cares. I won't be watching.

4) Brooklyn Nets vs. 5) Chicago Bulls
The Nets take this unless we see the surprise return of Rose. The Bulls still play way over their head in the regular season and don't have another gear come playoff time. The Nets do.

The West matchups are all very intriguing. I'm hoping those series last as long as possible.

Coming down to the wire... Melo shoots while not even looking at the basket. Great opening game so far.

Great ending to the Nugs/Warriors game. Andre Miller with the reverse to win it. 37 years old and the guy can ball with the best of them. Go Nugs!

I think I may have slightly underestimated the Nets. They're destroying Chicago at the moment.

After DWill came back from the dead midseason the Nets are something like 20 games over .500 to finish the season. The can put up points (Chicago can't without Rose) and they can rebound well.

Rose has been cleared to play for almost two months now. I have no idea what he is waiting for at this point.

Shame the warriors wasted their last timeout in a ridiculously stupid manner, but good game.

all the road teams are getting crushed today.. lol Rockets on pace to score like 40 pts for the entire game

Pretty weak and worthless thread. Should be locked/up or merged immediately. The other thread has been going of for along time and has a lot of material about playoffs too. maybe the title on that can be edited.

Except we've always had separate threads for regular/post-season for every league. Take the threadcrapping to P&N, Desi. :colbert:

Not that I follow basketball much anymore.. but sucks that Lee is out for the rest of the playoffs for the Warriors. 🙁 Gotta support the local team.
