Apple may announce something without any fanfare this afternoon (such as hardware bumps), but don't count on anything.

its a week but any major stuff will likely would've been part of the keynote by jobs.

If you want a 2 year contract with AT&T, you can get them for $99, otherwise you're at the mercy of whatever they are going for on CL/EBAY/etc.

I am seeing the 3gs 32gb going for $500-600 on CL right now. I don't care, as long as I break even, and get the iphone 4 .

Overall I don't really think the upgrade is worth it to me.

Things I do care about:

Higher res display. Niice.
720p video with iMovie. Awesome.
Better battery life. Much needed.
Multi-tasking. We get this with jailbroken phones already, though, and it's full Backgrounding at that...
If FaceTime worked over 3G, in addition to MacBooks. It does not. Maybe this will work over JB'd iOS 4 with the WiFi-faker app, but we'll have to wait and see.

I also hope AT&T doesnt' start monitoring their network for tethering use.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking about e.g. an iPhone 4 user in the US and an iPhone 4 user in Germany. If they use FaceTime talking with each other, will it be an international call or no (since it's all wi-fi, like Skype)?

As far as i've read, they monitor all traffic, but only flag it if it looks suspicious. I have read a few threads on macrumers where AT&T customers were kicked off for tethering, and AT&T saw the traffic as "PC" traffic.
