it's all about risk and reward. with one bad news, gnvc might go down to 50-60cents, but with one good news, it could go back to $1.5-$3.

Speculation is one of the hardest ways to make money however. It is better to invest over the long term than the short run.

What a day for VIX/VXX and FAZ.

But I find it interesting that many FAZ OTM PUTs haven't been dropped much, in fact, some are traded higher than yesterday's. Guess many people believe either the market (esp. financial) will recover soon, or volatility is back.

I bought GS at 149. Would you hold or sell and at least take some profit. I hate to knee jerk react though and miss the upswing.

I also just jumped in C at 4.60 - I think it'll continue a slow and steady raise and the 4% hit it took today seemed like a nice buy in point.

Sold off half my position in RMBS a couple days ago. Netted a 60% gain there

After today, i am honestly thinking bout dumping everything and holding a pure cash position.

I am giving one more chance to Monday to see if I should clear up my short-term holdings (options included). My longterm holdings like RMBS, VHC, GNVC, DNDN, C or HGSI won't be affected much, maybe sell 1/3rd or 1/4th but that'd be pretty much it.

This GS mess will definitely benefit ABK, this would explain the spike in ABK's vol and stock price few days ago. I might buy some ABK Monday pre-market.

Do you understand C and GS? How they make money? How the cash flows around? What it's intrinsic value is?

Lots of noise around DNDN FDA approval from both long and short. So, as a preparation for the event (GNVC trauma!) of up/down/stay, I bought a little bit of May OTM Call & Put to play both side in addition to the shares I've been holding with 2/3 inclined to the long side.

Any game plan for you guys?

I'm curious what you guys think of the financial sector...specifically banks such as JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, US Bancorp, etc? I bought *a* bank stock and it has since doubled but I'm wondering if I should sell or hold onto my modest position.

I'm also a bit skeptical that the current relaxed accounting rules will last, and suspect that's the reason why good banks have reported healthier revenue than expected (that and successful institutional trading w/Federal Reserve loans).

I think having both May calls and puts are way too expensive to benefit much. Some long-termers are holding puts in case of a delay. I'm only holding shares at this point... but more than enough to make me happy if it's positive.

Another huge quarter as expected. Just wait until the iPad money shows up in their earnings next quarter. From what I've heard, Best Buys are completely sold out of iPads and you have to signup on a waiting list to buy them from the Apple store.

Just amazing for AAPL. Why did I sell it @ $ 200!!! lol.

Anyway, yes, this quarter result shouldn't include iPad. It even may show up as liability in balance sheet depends on how they accounted the pre-order. (Which I doubt though since pre-order didn't require pre-payment AFAIK)

Hell yeah! My only regret is not rounding up more spare cash last year to buy into AAPL. That 170 call I bought is ROLLIN'!!! 😀

Yet another reason to love this company, MM!!! Love it. So solid.
