Both Smiths, Welker, Bowe, and Crabs were the only notables I remember. I should have probably taken Smith but I really wanted Floyd and didn't think he'd last another 40 picks.

dudeee noooooo lol. that was a terrible decision lol. carolina steve smith would have been the best choice, followed by bowe/crabtree, and then NYG smith/welker, though they get bumps in PPR. floyd is not even close to any of those guys! at BEST he might match them, but likely wont :(

If it works, it works.. if it doesn't, well.. atleast its not for money. :p

18 and 20 man leagues just get fun towards the end if everyone sticks with it.

interesting draft for my work 12 man league (6pts for all tds)

5-Kolb, Kevin QB PHI
6-Portis, Clinton RB WAS
1-Rice, Ray RB BAL
3-Austin, Miles WR DAL
2-Johnson, Andre WR HOU
4-Marshall, Brandon WR MIA
10-Winslow, Kellen TE TB
14-Rackers, Neil K HOU
15-Dolphins DST

9-Cutler, Jay QB CHI
11-Brown, Donald RB IND
8-Forsett, Justin RB SEA
13-Maroney, Laurence RB NE
12-McGahee, Willis RB BAL
7-Williams, Cadillac RB TB

i picked from the 4 spot with rice and the league went apeshit over qb's. like serious qb and rb loving... i took the first wr with AJ at pick 21. blew my mind..

weaknesses- qb, cutler has question marks, so does kolb. hopefully one pans out.
rb#2 portis/caddy/forsett- not sold on portis but hey at a 6th round, nothing to lose. hopefully someone steps up in a big way and i dont have to hem and haw about who's gonna be best.

all and all though, i think it's a fairly solid team.

Jeebus you are STACKED at WR. Andre Johnson at 21? WTF? You are in a league with idiots. :)

I had my other money league draft tonight. I picked 6th in a league with three keepers. I kept Brees, Benson, and Calvin Johnson from last year. Pickins got slim by my pick... I had some great values in the mid rounds though that I was happy with. I'm deep at WR...ok at RB. Would have liked another RB3 choice in there to hedge against injury, but I'll grab somebody of the waivers.

1. (6) Drew Brees
2. (15) Calvin Johnson
3. (26) Cedric Benson
4. (35) Jahvid Best
5. (46) Mike Sims-Walker
6. (55) LeSean McCoy
7. (66) Wes Welker
8. (75) Hakeem Nicks
9. (86) Chris Cooley

You better pray you dont have injuries at RB. How deep is your league that you grabbed TWO Defenses? Usually a WW grab will do.

a league of idiots that each pay 50 bucks :) we'll see how it goes, with my luck injuries will abound and i'll get reamed.

i'd consider dropping a defense or something to pickup bernard scott. bensen is gonna be a workhorse for you and if he goes down with an injury, you're gonna be hurting. could do that with caddy as his starting gig isnt so certain either.

I think you are going to have a rough time this season. You don't have a real top tier WR. Evans and Jones are tier 3 at best. You're also relying way too much on rookie RB's.

Who said anything about trying to win anything?

Besides, WR's are too inconsistent unless you pick one of the elite five or so.

As far as the rookie RB's... well, there is a method to my madness anyway. All 4 are guaranteed starters, even if it isn't at the RB position. :whiste:

They are guaranteed starters, sure. I have no problem with Matthews assuming you picked late in the first. Best and Spiller are both great talents on horrible teams, which does not bode well for the RB position, and that would worry me. I think Best has potential to prove me wrong though. McCoy I see being a feast or famine type player, he will have a few big weeks and a bunch of dud weeks.

I handcuffed with Scott in the 19th round, 2nd to last pick in the draft. Dexter McCluster is still on the waivers. Might grab him because he has an awesome name...and that WR/RB double play in yahoo is interesting. Could be a Sproles sort of guy.

I picked 6th (out of 12). I was the guy everybody laughed at last season when I took Ray Rice in the 1st round.. we all know how THAT turned out.

Basically this year, I'm screwing around, going on gut feeling, and just plain having fun. Best is going to have a good season. Spiller is looking REAL good in the preseason, and will be utilized both in the backfield and as a WR. I agree with McCoy, BUT I think Kolb will be off to a rocky start and Reid will call McCoy's number more than people are expecting him to. Plus no more Westbrook, so McCoy is THE guy in Philly.

I took McCluster mostly because the name, partly because the Yahoo positioning has him dual-purpose, and just because. Evans is gonna have a so-so year, Parrish is going to be Buffalo's Welker this season (finally! thank god!). Gresham is the odd man out who's going to start seeing lots of work once 85 and TO get blanketed. Flacco is gonna have a tremendous season, Bradford was just because he's a rookie and to waste a pick. Jacoby Jones... just wait. :)

I'm here to have fun this season. What'll be more fun than a team full of players with no 2009 stat lines wiping the floor in this league? (Crono's gonna win it all anyway)

Started doing some of the mock-auction drafts on Yahoo in preparation for one of the ATOT leagues.. Man these drafts take a lot longer than a traditional draft.. And you gotta pay attention most of the time. :p

I find myself ending the drafts with too much money left over.

Jonathan Stewart (Car - RB)
Tony Gonzalez (Atl - TE)
Malcom Floyd (SD - WR)
Jerome Harrison (Cle - RB)
Dustin Keller (NYJ - TE)
Josh Johnson (TB - QB)

Kickers
Mason Crosby (GB - K)
David Buehler (Dal - K)

Defense/Special Teams

Run your team through the link I provided earlier, and it will give you some options. I'd also find a new DEF for either of those - how many bench slots do you have?

Congratulations! You seem to have grabbed quality players at every turn of this draft. It's rare indeed to be better than the average team at the three core positions (quarterback, running back and receiver), but we think this team is. And it's above average at the supporting positions as well.

Says I'm pretty much guaranteed to get playoffs. But I wouldn't be surprised if I have to make changes this season. In fact, I already swapped one of my bench players up before the season even started.

Now it's been a while since I've done fantasy football, what are waivers for? I don't recall ever using them before.

We just finished Free2 league (9 Teams so no H2H unforunately, standard yahoo 1/2/3/1/1/1, no ppr)

I'm going to post the teams blind, and see who you guys think has the best team.

Thanks, the link you provided is pretty cool! 4 spots left on my bench ... is LT, Dexter McCluster, Santonio Holmes or Sam Bradford worth it?

Re: Sam, I'm just rolling the dice here, plus I kinda want him to do good as well. :)

Any other suggestions?

So here's my "official" team (my league) after finishing the draft just a bit ago... see if Kev likes this any better than Team Rookie. I picked 6th AGAIN, 12 man league.

I give you in no particular order (round/pick in parenthesis):

QB: Matt Schaub (2/19th)
RB: Michael Turner (1/6th)
RB: Ronnie Brown (6/54th)
WR: Wes Welker (4/43rd)
WR: Marques Colston (3/30th)
TE: Rob Gronkowski (10/115th)
W/T: Malcom Floyd (5/54th)
K: Rian Lindell (15/174th)
DST: Dallas Cowboys (11/126th)

BN: Jermaine Gresham (14/163rd)
BN: Matthew Stafford (13/150th)
BN: Bernard Berrian (12/139th)
BN: Beanie Wells (7/78th)
BN: Terrell Owens (9/102nd)
BN: Jerome Harrison (8/91st)

That would be me .. and Ben is the best backup QB :)

Well we can agree to disagree on that, but otherwise I like the rest of the picks

I was going through the different commenters on your link and I'm convinced Bob Henry is an idiot. He was a polar opposite to the rest of them, saying my starters are below average and the players he liked were my bench. All the rest seem to have good things to say and with good management I should have no trouble getting to playoffs.

I like this team better. Pretty good at all the big positions but I must admit I had to look up who that TE was. That was the only TE you could get?

I think Ronnie Brown can be a beast this year if he stays healthy.
