Thanks for the generous offer buddy, but unfortunately this trip is going to be somewhat limited in time - visiting Rambus and staying with a best friend of mine that's moved out there a few years ago to work for Dreamworks.

A lot of Cali ATOT'ers huh? What am I doing in Boston?!?

heh bot the Jul 17 calls this morning.

What are you guys referring to?

I think he's referring to RMBS and the nvidia thing. I bought it for nvidia and hynix bond posting/possibility of settlement.

I was referring to DNDN, currently up $1.67.

Huh? secret code language? lol no one has mentioned DNDN in at least 2 wks

Anyway I followed JS80 into more rmbs... so c'mon court decisions!

Yup. I kinda think Azurik is joking since RMBS didn't go up $1 or at all. But if the upcoming hearing goes well, it'll be good for us.

"It's usually a bad sign if a company is forced to reverse split - firms do it to make their stock look more valuable when, in fact, nothing has changed. A company may also do a reverse split to avoid being delisted."

I dont know whats left of AIG to make it look more bad.

More likely to avoid being delisted. Most funds and such wont touch stocks under $5, so this makes it more attractive towards large buyers.

Echostar/Dish Network was granted a stay of the injuction against them until the appeal is through. I expect TIVO to go down 10%+ tomorrow on the headlines. However, the appeals court is expediting this case to November which saves about 6-12 months off the normal procedure. That is good news for TIVO.

Ultimately, I believe TIVO is way undervalued given the circumstances, but this is now a story that is going to take some time rather than the instant gratification the momo players seek.

So short-term down, but within 6-12 months I expect the shares to go over $20+.

I'm flying to California tomorrow morning - catch up with you guys later!

I know that some folks here are/were holding july calls (including me), and I was wondering what they're doing. That said I don't own much in july, but it'd be cool they didn't become worthless, haha. I guess I'm wondering if even good news for rmbs will kick it back up given all the bad news elsewhere on the market.

I am holding some july calls. Got 10 at $1.00 = $1000
They are worth about $500 now or may be less.

http://blogs.reuters.com/comme...ldman-trading-scandal/

While most in the US were celebrating the 4th of July, a Russian immigrant living in New Jersey was being held on federal charges of stealing top-secret computer trading codes from a major New York-based financial institution?that sources say is none other than Goldman Sachs.

The allegations, if true, are big news because the codes the accused man, Sergey Aleynikov, tried to steal is the secret code to unlocking Goldman?s automated stocks and commodities trading businesses. Federal authorities allege the computer codes and related-trading files that Aleynikov uploaded to a German-based website help this major ?financial institution? generate millions of dollars in profits each year.

This seems like a pretty significant problem for the market as a whole. What should we expect this week considering this news it out there?

lol, I've lost about 75% value on july calls, which means there ain't much left. Might as well see what happens this week.

edit: on a roller coaster, this would be the fun part :D

Goldman Sachs is crazy influential over the entire stock market. That is why I said it.

General [noob] options question: when do people usually sell the options that they hold? (e.g. jul rmbs expires next friday... do I wait till then or sell earlier?) If you wait too long, will you be unable to find buyers & be stuck with it? Or is there some kind of entity that handles options<->cash conversion?
