Official: #1 OSU vs. #2 UT College Football, Game of the Year thread

Go OSU.

with an experienced QB, a deadly wide reciever, and one hell of a good team all around, they look damn powerful this year.

will be an amazing game though, that is for sure.

Sorry but this isn't a real #1 vs #2.
This is just a poll's speculation on a #1 and #2 teams.
We've seen plenty of high ranked teams that are pretty bad.

I'l get excited when there is a #1 vs #2 toward the end of the season.

OSU is for real...I'd be surprised if they didn't stay at the top through the season (could get knocked off come bowl time, of course)

you mean the bowl game? You usually don't get games this good early in the season (and usually not towards the end either). Last year UT squeeked past OSU and they ended up beating USC for the championship - that game was pretty much a "#1 vs. #2", this could be another scenario...although I doubt it, I'd bet UT chokes and has a so-so year without Vince.

Replacing nine defensive starters, including the entire secondary if I remember correctly, makes a good team all around? Try again.

i can, hook em! at home? one loss at home in how many games?! ut has this, even if the qb issue maybe iffy for some, the rest of their team is amazing and mac brown is hands down the best recruiter in ncaa football

game is in austin, and we simply don't get beat in austin.

then again, ohio state doesn't get beat in columbus 😱

i don't think ohio state's defense is as bad as the magazines seem to talk it up to be, all the guys that are getting slotted in got game time last year. but none of them are aj hawk. UT's defense is nothing to scoff at, either (probably top 5 in the country, if not better). this ain't last year's notre dame defense, after all. and as long as whoever is playing quarterback doesn't make stupid mistakes, UT has enough talent on that side of the ball to score lots of points. and if mccoy is really just like major applewhite, then he isn't going to make mistakes (major's only mistakes were getting injured in the offseason and letting a&m poison him).

I'll probably be at the game... depending on my plans that weekend.

I looked a few sites for the prices on non-student tickets, and most of those tickets were going for $600+, a little excessive for regular season game, IMO.

Hook 'em, bitches!

This is the only way I can see TX winning. Our offense vs your defense will be a great battle, but I think tOSU will be able to put up more points than Texas in the end. The only twist I can see is turn-overs and what would be the worst is 6 point picks. But I don't see that happening that often with Troy this season.

I'll be at the game, flying down from Columbus.

GO BUCKS!

It'll be interesting. OSU lost the cornerstone and leader of their Defense in Hawk. Texas lost their primary offensive threat and motivator on offense in Young.

Will it even each other out? It'll be a good game for sure. I just wish more "good" games popped up early in the season like this. None of this whooping up on dinky little regional schools.

Colt is starting .. and hes looking really good... hes not as Mobile as Vince was but hes got a hell of an arm.
and his backup is also fantastic for a frosh.. hes got a better arm than Colt, Mack is saying..

Horns have this... they are pysched up and they are saying they want to proove that Vince wasnt the entire offence and they want to win for the entire team this year..

I think its going to be a low scoring game. Both teams need to prove themselves and i think both are gonna come out looking like crap.
