So maybe you should stop your car if a cop has blue lighted you...just maybe.
Or not and your fam can get $1.2M for your idiocy.
Edit: And put your hands on the wheel and turn on the dome light.
...?common sense....
I totally agree that this is what you SHOULD do. It's what I do.
Yet failure to stop doesn't equal a death penalty. If a cop shoots you because you don't follow the rules, absent an extremely legitimate reason to shoot the fuck out of you, the cop should get jail time and be PERSONALLY financially liable. If so, this shit would end in a heartbeat and wouldn't even be discussed here anymore. That is the real solution, not "you didn't obey enough".
a good portion of these situations comes from the victim's refusal to defuse the situation.
And expect our taxes to increase to fully cover the cost of insuring every officer. Either way, the cost comes from the taxpayer in the end. That's why I think cops should have to carry some sort of malpractice insurance, withdrawn directly from their paychecks. If one cop messes up, it affects all their pocket books when their premiums go up.
He should have pulled over long before he got home and hit 2 (?) other cars. He wasn't a thug. Just not too bright.I'll wait for people to filter in here calling Grandpa a thug for not pulling over fast enough.

Maybe but pretty sure the cops knew Ernest. He was 68 years old. Perhaps he had some other issues.
