Which office for linux you're using?
I can't really decide between KOffice and OpenOffice, which one would you recommend?

Thanks.

I have StarOffice, KOffice and OpenOffice all installed.

IT depends on your needs but OpenOffice is better IMO.

Man, the new version 1.0 of Open Office is SOOOO Much nicer.. it is probably the best availabe...

Then again, I would love to get my hands on a test copy of Hancom Office for Linux... its the #1 Linux (and windows) Office Suite in asia... and its been very very popular on MAC's for years.

Thanks, I'm gathering applications for migration to Gentoo, Office is last one on my list.
OO seems like the way to go.

If I'm using only basic office features, doc/xls files will be fully compatible with MS Office?
And I've heard that OO loads much longer than Koffice (somewhere 15sec. on 1.3Ghz celeron), any truth here?

Currently I am running a RH 7.3 at work (on a P4 2.4 with 256 MB Ram) and OO seems to take about 2X the time that KOffice does. the difference is about 10 to 15 seconds based on what app (I have links directly to the particular apps that I need on the desktop) I open in OO. But in a company that the defacto standard has become MS Office it is nice to have an app that runs on Linux and windows that is 100% compatible
