When I copy and paste, it takes like 1 minute for the paste to fully occur. I've repaired the installation, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, I even let the .exe of Word access the network, before I didn't earlier.

I hate it. All my resources are pretty much freed up. I've got like 768mb DDR333 RAM, it's actually DDR400, but I have a crappy southbridge, so it forces DDR333, not that this would even matter anyway.

I just restored my computer a few weeks ago and installed Office XP_MSDN. The Word program can copy and paste text of itself, but when I copy text from a web page, it's terribly slow to complete the paste, the program just freezes for like a long time.

Any suggestions?

Was this MSDN version obtained from Microsoft or is it a cracked warez version?

If it isn't from Microsoft it probably had a trojan added that is messing up the OS and possibly saturating the CPU with infection attempts, SPAM mailing, DDOS attacks, etc.

The fix for that is to format the hard drive, including the boot record, do a fresh Windows install (not a cracked version -- same issue) then install OpenOffice instead of "Office XP_MSDN"

Why don't you post where you get your warez from then, just to prove it?

Also, I didn't say "all warez has teh trojanzz!" I said this warez probably did based on the symptoms. If you think all warez is _clean_ then BS yourself.

There are some versions that are OK, but fore every version that is clean, there are 3 that are hacked.

if it' snot a hacked copy, but is instead MSDN, then call MS, they will help you troubleshoot. Although, it is a violation of MSDN to use the software for any production/reporting use

This is a serious matter. The copy I have is a full retail copy. It has worked for me in the past just fine. But somehow, it doesn't seem to be doing me any good. I have installed service packs for OfficeXP_MSDN. However, I'm not sure if the SP's have gone away after reinstallation.

I answered you seriously. MSDN = Microsoft Developer Network, so I would not expect a normal retail copy of Office to have MSDN on it.

Did you buy your copy from a well-known vendor, or from some European internet site or ad in an email? You might have a counterfeit copy.
